Lisa Rinna Debuts Androgynous Buzz Cut as She Admits to Wanting to 'Shock' with Her Fashion Choices

Lisa Rinna wants to make your jaw drop when you see her in a daring look.

It’s second nature for the soap star to make a dramatic fashion statement, and that’s exactly what she did on the cover of Only Natural Diamonds Spring/Summer 2024 digital edition, released on May 31.

The issue “focuses on the theme of heritage, both personal and historical, while exploring the timeless appeal and emotional resonance of real natural diamonds” and sees Rinna challenging the status quo in some wild outfits and hairstyles.

Photographed by Tina Tyrell, ex The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 60, has multiple hairstyles that make her unrecognizable, especially since they’re completely different from her signature brunette.

On the cover, Rinna wears a cherry red off-the-shoulder top with her pink patterned Richard Quinn bodysuit, dominatrix boots and Wolford mesh leggings.

Elsewhere in the sequence, she trades in a rock ‘n’ roll hairdo with a particularly teased ’60s blonde hairdo only to ditch it for an androgynous undercut, which is the shortest haircut Rinna has ever sported.

Even though all the looks are wigs, we still have hair envy.

The Mom the Baddest the star is no stranger to a big stylistic transformation.

“I am an actor and I like to play characters. “The regular photo shoot started after I was on a reality show for eight years and I started wearing wigs and exploring fashion,” Rinna told Only Natural Diamonds.

She then explained, “I feel very comfortable outside of my comfort zone. If it shocks people, great. I like to shock people. I love making people go, ‘Oh my God, look what she’s done now.'”

That group includes her daughters, Delilah Belle, 25, and Amelia Gray, 22. “It takes a lot to shock me, but I think I shocked them,” she said.

Back in November 2023, Rinna spoke with PEOPLE about dressing the way she wants in her 60s — and feeling empowered by showing other women that they can too.

“You don’t have to go and be put out to pasture, like I said,” she said. “You can still wear makeup and look beautiful. You can still try different fashion looks and be cool. I think that’s what makes me the most confident.”

Rinna may push the boundaries when it comes to her hairstyles and outfits (which, by the way, includes the archives she’s been amassing for the past 32 years), but she definitely goes for the classics when it comes to her flashy style.

Speaking to the magazine about her jewelry collection, Rinna revealed her favorite pieces given to her by husband Harry Hamlin. These include her wedding ring, a Tiffany & Co. diamond cross necklace. and a Fred Leighton ring that the actor personalized to feature diamonds from his mother and grandmother.

“It’s big and I love it, but I can’t do yoga in it, so I take it outside on special occasions. Harry is romantic that way. I like it when he really thinks about it. That’s when it means the most,” she said and added that the diamond band Eternity bought the couple for their 25th wedding anniversary in 2022.
