At the gala dinner of the LGBT Center in Los Angeles on May 18, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills The alum opened up about her 32 years with Hamlin and Hamlin — 27 of which were married — and her comments may disappoint hopeless romantics.

“I think it’s real luck,” Rinna, 60, told PEOPLE at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium, adding, “I think it’s luck. Really.”

“Because who would have ever thought? I mean, we really love and respect each other, so that helps,” she said of Hamlin, 72. “And I really like him as a person. I think he is a really good man and I feel really lucky. But I think it’s really hard to find someone you want to spend that much time with, right?”

As they approach a quarter century of marriage in 2022, the couple revealed the secret of their successful relationship to PEOPLE, explaining that, contrary to popular belief, it actually has a lot to do with how fundamentally different they are.

While Hamlin likes to spend her free time outside, Rinna is happier at the spa, the couple revealed, with RHOBH Alum adding that they “eat differently, sleep differently” — and even have very different astrological signs.
