Lizzo Says ‘Nobody Told’ Her About Request to Be in Jennifer Lopez’s Musical Film: ‘J. Lo, I Love You’

Lizzo addresses claims she couldn’t appear in Jennifer Lopez’s music video.

On Wednesday, Lizzo, 35, shared a TikTok where she responded to a clip from Lopez’s Prime Video documentary The greatest love story never told in which one of the “Waiting for Tonight” singer’s team members claimed she was “not available” to be part of her star-studded movie musical This is me… now: a love story.

“Nobody said anything to me,” the “Truth Hurts” singer said in the video. “Nobody asked me. J.Lo, I love you.”

Lizzo’s response comes just two weeks after Lopez, 54, was releasedThis is me… now: a love storyin which she enlisted the likes of Jane Fonda, Keke Palmer, Trevor Noah, Kim Petras, Post Malone, Sofia Vergara, Jenifer Lewis, Jay Shetty, Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Sadhguru in a hilarious Zodiac Council, an astrologically inspired group that meets to dissect Lopez’s love life from the sky above.

Elsewhere in the film, Fat Joe appears as her therapist, while Derek Hough steals the show with his dance moves as one of the actress/singer’s husbands.

On Tuesday, Lopez was released The greatest love story never told, which chronicles the making of her musical film as well as her journey towards self-love. In one scene, the producers and Lopez discuss the offers they made to various stars ahead of filming.

In the documentary, the “Can’t Get Enough” singer is told that Taylor Swift is a “no,” while Jason Momoa, Jennifer Coolidge and Lizzo are unavailable.

At one point, someone suggests Lopez Second act co-star Vanessa Hudgens to play one of her friends in the film, although she is also considered unavailable.

“I don’t want to force anybody into this who isn’t going, ‘This is going to be fun,'” Lopez tells his crew. “Nobody wants to say ‘no’ to me… I get that. But when an actor doesn’t like the script or doesn’t think it’s good enough or is worried about it, that’s what they’ll say. I know that. I did it.”

He also reveals to his choreographer Sienna Lalau that Khloé Kardashian was “supposed” to be in the film, but won’t be anymore.
