Gillian, 51, kicked him out of her home in Scotland after a row.

A source said: “He was throwing money around left, right and centre. They could have ended up skinny.”

His glee left Gillian fearing nothing would be left of her share of the EuroMillions jackpot she won with first husband Adrian in 2012.

An insider told The Sun: “Brian saw Gillian as an ATM, nothing more.

“She kept throwing money at him to try and make the marriage work.

“She wouldn’t have thought of giving £20,000 if he had asked for it.

“But no amount was ever enough and he wanted more and more.

“She probably came out at the right time.

“If they had continued as they were, they could have ended up without a head.

“He acts like it’s a big deal.”

Out of work, Brian receives a monthly allowance from his new wife after they married five years ago.

But they recently broke up, and the marriage has been showing cracks for some time, sources say.

One claimed that Brian would move out after the fight but would return with new gifts from Gillian.

One friend said: “Marriage has never been as happy as I’ve seen.

“Brian would move out and then come back, and Gillian would buy him another car.

“She was mesmerized.

“She just wanted the marriage to work no matter what.

“I lost count of the cars she bought him.

“She must have wasted a small fortune on that alone.”

Gillian and first husband Adrian Bayford hit their mega fortune in August 2012 while living in Haverhill, Suffolk.

The couple, who have two children, soon moved to a property in Cambridgeshire, but divorced 15 months later.

Gillian, originally from Carnoustie, Angus, has returned to Scotland, where she now rents properties.

She is thought to have met Brian – jailed for defrauding a Tesco store of £13,500 – while he was living in a run-down flat in Dundee.

He quickly got used to piles of money.

Gillian treated him and his family to vacations, cars, watches and clothes.

Later he moved into her villa.

“Brian saw Gillian as an ATM, nothing more

A source said: “Brian was acting like he’d won the lottery.

“Cash was going straight to his head and he was throwing money left, right and centre.

“He would fly with his friends to watch a football match and he would pay for everything.

“On top of that, he would give them all spending money.

“It was important to him that everyone knew that he was paying the bill.

“But he wasn’t. It all came from Gillian.”

Insiders said his monthly pocket money was never enough as he tried to finance the extravagant lifestyle he had become accustomed to.

One said: “Sometimes the day after he got paid Gillian would go and say he was skinny and needed more money.

“He would tell her that she can’t take it with her.

“I don’t know if she ever said ‘No’ to him.

“She was probably a little naive about what was really going on.”

GIRL

The couple became the parents of a girl during the quarantine due to Covid 2020.

It is claimed that Gillian was desperate to make Brian happy and stay together as a family.

She agreed to move from Broughty Ferry outside Dundee to Auchterarder, Perthshire, to make a fresh start, but it didn’t work.

A source said: “It’s probably hard for people on the outside to understand what happened, but Gillian was head over heels in love.

“She believed everything Brian told her.

“All she wanted was for him to be happy and she never questioned him.

“If he wanted money, he got it.

“Handing over £50,000 was no big deal to her.

“All she wanted was for her family to stay together, as far as I could see.”

A MONSTER PRIZE

Gillian and Adrian’s £148 million win in 2012 was one of the biggest EuroMillions jackpots at the time, and the couple celebrated by ordering a Domino’s pizza.

Their monster reward came the same month Brian was jailed for fraud.

He defrauded thousands from Tesco by running fake customer returns at a store in Dundee.

He and his friend were sentenced to six months in prison.

Brian immediately went to work renovating the properties.

Until 2012, Gillian worked in a hospital, while Adrian worked as a postman, while another job was running a music store.

The couple spent some of their winnings on a sprawling £6million mansion.

But just 15 months later, in November 2013, they decided to file for divorce.

After the split, the couple were forced to split the winnings evenly despite Adrian buying a ticket that was gold.

Gillian later told The Sun that the whirlwind of victory had cost them their marriage.

Adrian was kicked out four times, leaving his ego bruised and his bank balance dented.

One of his lovers, stablewoman Samantha Burbidge, rejected his marriage proposal and returned to her ex-boyfriend penniless – with almost £500,000 of gifts Adrian showered her with.

There was also Marta Jarosz, a former sausage factory worker who got a £34,000 luxury Volvo V40 hatchback before breaking up with him.

Then came Lisa Kemp—the waitress who broke Adrian’s heart when she kicked him while they were on vacation.

In 2021, Adrian sold his £6 million home and 189-acre estate in Cambridgeshire for a loss.

Meanwhile, Gillian’s best friend Julie Cameron claimed she was forced out of the hair salon business they started amid a row over dogs.

Sources said the friendship broke down when Gillian found out that Julie had left her pets with a tenant in one of the tycoon’s rented apartments.

THE BATTLE OF THE SONS

In 2021, the Bayfords’ son Cameron (13) was left fighting for his life after a horrific quad bike accident.

He was driving a vehicle when he was hit by a car driven by his sister Amy (15) on the property of their dad’s mansion.

Cameron was put into an induced coma, but made a full recovery.

Gillian and Brian married in a luxury hotel in St Andrews in 2018.

They had been friends for several years and started a romance after meeting on different nights out

Reflecting on her conviction shortly after they married, Gillian said: “My head is blind.

“I don’t have a big zipper on the back.

“I know from the beginning and it doesn’t bother me.

“Everyone has a past, but you can’t live in the past.

“You have to move on.

“It was six years ago and he was punished for being silly.

“He can’t make himself suffer for the rest of his life.”

Gillian about Brian

However, she made sure Brian signed a prenuptial agreement so she wouldn’t be entitled to a huge chunk of what she was left with when they divorced.

Brian now runs a pub in Auchterarder and is thought to have spent everything he got from Gillian.

A source said: “It’s a really sad and tragic story.

“He had everything, but he threw it away.”

Gillian declined to comment last night.

Brian insisted on ending the relationship, but made no further comment.
