Five years ago and forever!
Monday marked the fifth wedding anniversary for Love is blind starring Amber Pike and Matt Barnett. Amber (31) started the day with a sweet tribute to her husband (33) on social media.
She began her Instagram post (which Matt also shared) with a humorous quote: “Today I love you more than yesterday, yesterday you got on my nerves,” is her actual caption alongside a video of the pair walking hand in hand and kissing each other on the cheek, he began, “5 years later and somehow I really love you more today than the day we said ‘I do.’ Don’t get me wrong, not every day has been perfect and God knows we’ve made a lot of mistakes over the years, but the most important thing that I’m so thankful we got right is how willing we are to work for each other to continue growing together.”
She added: “I love you more today than I did then, not because our love is perfect (or ‘blind’ 🙄), but because our eyes are wide open and our love is deliberate and intentional. Our love now is greater than it was is then because it’s a choice we’ve made and in which we’ve been putting effort every day for the past 5 years, and I know it’s something we’ll continue to do for the rest of our lives.”
She ended the post, “I love you Matthew Donovan Barnett. I appreciate you and am grateful for how much you love me. Happy anniversary my Bumblebee, 5 years later and another life to look forward to❤️🥰😘”

The couple met on the first season of the hit Netflix reality show hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey and were married by the season finale in November 2018.
As they celebrated their second anniversary in November 2020, Amber told PEOPLE that one day they might have a second wedding.
“I would like to do another wedding. There is no rush about it. We are married now, but at some point,” she said. “We still have a lot of fun. Like I said on the show, ‘It’s a joke on my mom! She thought I was going to settle down and Matt is just as wild and adventurous as I am!’
At the time of the couple’s proposal, Amber said she challenged her husband-to-be with unnecessary before saying “I do,” explaining that she needed more of an “emotional connection” with him and that she couldn’t always be the only emotional opening.
“I’m really proud that I didn’t just jump into it,” she said. “I thought, ‘I need to know that you really need this. You’re sure you’re in this because we’re going to make it work.'”
Matt’s response made it easier for Amber to accept the proposal. “He says, ‘I’ll do whatever you want to make you happy. I love you,'” she recalled. “I just started crying and I said, ‘Yes! Yes! I’ll marry you!'”

Last year, as she marked their fourth wedding anniversary, Amber shared then-now pictures of “life 4 years ago VS life 4 years ago now,” with her “constant partner in crime.”
The former tank mechanic — who served as a Georgia Army Guardsman — went on to talk about how their unconventional way of dating worked out in the long run.
“People may think that getting married the way we are is crazy, but I’ve always trusted my instincts (even the crazy ones) and they haven’t steered me wrong yet, and luckily your crazy instincts work almost perfectly with mine,” she said. . wrote to her husband. “Happy anniversary @barnettisblind. I wouldn’t trade our crazy life these last 4 years for anything.”

Amber and Matt aren’t the only couple from the first season to stay married. Cameron Hamilton and Lauren Speed Hamilton will also celebrate their fifth anniversary on November 16.
