Love Is Blind’s Chelsea Reveals She and Jimmy ‘Dated for a Few Days’ After Their Breakup (Exclusive)

Chelsea Blackwell and Jimmy Presnell did not marry Love is blindbut that was not the end of their love story.

Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Chelsea, 31, says she and Jimmy, 28, gave their relationship a second chance shortly after he dumped her in the Season 6 finale.

– We dated for a few days after the break-up – she reveals. “And that was a journey we were trying to maneuver together.”

In the end, the two decided to go their separate ways and have not renewed their romance since. The news is likely to come as a shock to fans, who recently got excited that they may have started dating again after they shared similar snaps on their Instagram stories in the same location.

Chelsea and Jimmy’s story continues Love is blind had many ups and many downs. The two developed a strong bond in the pods, but both had another main contender on their minds. Jimmy eventually broke up with Jessica Vestal to propose to Chelsea, and she ended things with Trevor Sova after Jimmy proposed.

However, the couple’s journey was met with many challenges, including Jimmy’s initial disappointment that Chelsea didn’t look like Megan Fox despite what she told him in the capsules and Chelsea getting hurt when Jimmy commented on actress Amber Desiree “AD” Smith’s body.

In North Carolina, the two couldn’t agree on issues like attachment, resulting in him calling her “clingy” and trust. Their breaking point came when Jimmy went out with his girlfriends — one of whom he had previously slept with — and Chelsea felt uneasy about the situation. As they argued, she brought up the relationship, which drove Jimmy apart as they agreed to he won’t talk about it on camera.

The two addressed the drama at Wednesday’s reunion, with Chelsea apologizing and Jimmy taking the blame for putting his friend in an awkward situation.

“She didn’t deserve it,” Jimmy said of his friend. “She didn’t like to hear it… one of them is really mad at me for bringing it up.”

“I hated that this all turned out so badly, and I can take it, they didn’t deserve it,” he added of the “defining moment” in their relationship. “I would rob [Chelsea] if I didn’t tell her. I told her because I was planning to marry her and she needed to know every bit of me.”

He also stressed that in hindsight the “right decision” would have been to end things with Chelsea after that point, but he was holding off because they “loved each other so much”.

Chelsea, who admitted at the reunion that her actions “ruined everything,” previously told PEOPLE that she regretted revealing Jimmy’s secret, but said she needed to have that conversation with him because they were still working through some relationship issues days before of a potential wedding.

“I definitely regret bringing it up on camera,” Chelsea said. “It’s something that he’s made very clear that he doesn’t want exposed to the world, but in reality, this is my relationship, these are our issues, and I’m really sitting with this issue that I’m not allowed to bring up at a certain time, which is not fair.”

“It’s not fair on either side, but just walking around on a shell around a really big problem in our relationship, me had have that conversation. I didn’t care about the cameras,” she continued. “He was just very concerned about how he looked and how he was portrayed, and I just didn’t — clearly, I didn’t care.”

Chelsea also stressed at the reunion — and to PEOPLE — that she apologized to Jimmy’s friend and got a response.

“I spoke to her multiple times and just apologized and said, ‘I don’t know what’s going to be shown, but I’m really, really sorry that I exposed you in this way. It was never my intention, but this was our relationship and it was a big problem,’ she told PEOPLE.

Despite the heartbreak she faced, Chelsea said she learned a lot from her relationship with Jimmy and her time on the show.

“I’ve definitely learned that I’m a lot stronger than I ever thought, even when I was going through my relationship and being exposed to the world…I realized how strong and bad a bitch I am, that it’s like, ‘Oh my God, so I’m proud of myself,’ she said.

“And I learned what I wanted about things that I wasn’t getting from Jimmy that weren’t shown,” she continued. “He wasn’t matching his actions with his words, he was saying all the right things and it was amazing, but his actions weren’t matching his words. So when it comes to future relationships, that’s something that has to be aligned up there or it’s not going to work .”
