Jared “JP” Pierce is going public with his new girlfriend a year and a half after his split from Taylor Rue.
The Love is blind The alum, 32, took to Instagram on Thursday to share a post that included a series of photos documenting the progress of his relationship with girlfriend Ellen.
“Over a year ago I met the sweetest, most caring, most caring, awesome, sexy and fun person,” he said in the caption. “She is simply the best! 🫶.”
The carousel features images of the couple attending sports games, music festivals, going on dates and their vacation in Cancun, Mexico.
JP’s debut relationship follows his awkward split with ex-fiancée Taylor.
In season 5 Love is blind, JP and Taylor hit it off and were the first to get engaged. However, the two struggled to form a true relationship after their embarrassing discovery and eventually called it quits a few days into their trip to Mexico.
During the getaway, the flow of conversation was a big issue for the pair, with Taylor, 26, expressing her wish for JP to talk more, while JP was adamant he didn’t want to be pressured. This resulted in very awkward moments between the engaged couple.

Later, when Taylor confronted her firefighter fiance on camera about their big breakup, he finally admitted that he was uncomfortable with her physical appearance when they first saw each other live. “I felt like you were fake,” he said in episode 6. “You had a make-up face, fake eyelashes… you were presenting fake things.”
“When I first saw you, you had all these things on, I thought, ‘Well, is this going to be an everyday thing? Am I going to have to deal with this, what are you doing face?’ You’re literally putting on a completely different face, and I’m like, ‘Well, that’s not really what I want,'” he said, before emphasizing his desire for her makeup-free look. “I want this face.”
Taylor didn’t take kindly to his words and decided to take some space from JP before finally ending their engagement the next morning.

Love is blind: The biggest bombshells from the Season 5 reunion
During their appearance on Love Is Blind: The Reunion, the former couple resolved their communication issues in Mexico. JP attributed his behavior to nerves and claimed that Taylor “didn’t try” to advance their relationship, which she denied.
“I felt like I tried. I was actually getting things out of him in Mexico, but it still wasn’t enough,” she said. Then he replied, “That’s no way to get me to open up, to keep chasing me.”
As hosts Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey pushed the topic further, Taylor admitted: “I don’t think I was attracted to him from the moment we met. He didn’t give me any confirmation when I asked him about our future, he didn’t answer… and on top of that you belittled me and made me feel less than I am.”

He eventually apologized for his words, explaining that “I honestly wanted to let you know that I think you’re beautiful without makeup,” and Taylor said she forgave him.
