Lukas Gage Says 6-Month Marriage to Chris Appleton Was ‘a Manic Episode’ but Insists There Was ‘No Cheating’

Lukas Gage is considering a divorce from Chris Appleton.

During the performance on Tuesday Watch what’s happening liveGage, 28, told host Andy Cohen, 55, that he doesn’t know what he was thinking by hooking up with someone after just two months of dating.

The couple was married by Appleton’s friend Kim Kardashian, 40, in Las Vegas on April 22, 2023, before splitting on November 10, 2023, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

IN WWHL video shared on TikTok, Cohen mentioned that he had met Gage several times, adding that he was “surprised” to see White lotus star gets married after dating someone for such a short time.

“I had a manic episode for six months. Those fur jackets…” Gage replied, referring to the black fur coats he and Appleton wore for their Vegas ceremony, as seen in the episode The Kardashians which aired shortly before their split was announced. “Fur coats were a terrible idea,” he added WWHL.

“What happened?” Cohen asked, mentioning that Kardashian, 43, officiated the wedding.

“I don’t know literally what went through my head. But we live and learn,” Gage insisted.

When Cohen brought up the cheating rumors that surfaced after the couple filed for divorce, Gage hesitated to answer, but assured him, “There was no cheating.”

The Your the actor continued to joke about getting married so quickly, adding, “Yeah, that’s kind of how I play. I’m a little impulsive. But it was probably one of the most reckless things I’ve done in my life, and I’ll probably have six more marriages.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Gage apologized to Shania Twain, who performed “You’re Still The One” for her and Appleton before their Vegas ceremony. “I want to apologize to Shania Twain for wasting her time,” the star insisted.

“I’m like, ‘We’re still hanging out, you’re still the one,’ after three weeks, it was disconnected,” he continued. “That was like the biggest waste of her time. I love you Shania, I’m really sorry about that.”

PEOPLE confirmed on Nov. 13 that celebrity hairstylist Appleton filed for divorce from Gage, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. Court documents also show there was a postnuptial agreement.

While I was talking to PEOPLE in the House on the road premiered during SXSW in Austin, Texas earlier this month, Gage said of adjusting to life after the split, “It’s been great. It was a year of learning, growing, changing — yes, just constant change. Life is always changing.”

“Everything is great. Yes, it was very good,” he added.
