Machine Gun Kelly gives fans an up close and personal look at his most intense tattoo experience yet.
In February, the rapper and singer-songwriter, 33, debuted a massive black-out tattoo that stretches across his upper torso and both arms, covering most of his previous tattoos. “For spiritual purposes only,” he wrote in an Instagram post showing off his new ink, which he shared required 44 needles.
On Monday, MGK shared an Instagram video documenting the grueling process.

“Today marks the day I begin the physical transformation of my body,” he says at the start of the video with old ink still visible. “We’ll see what this turns out to be.”
Over the course of several weeks, the musician sat for a long time on the tattoo, which took its toll on his body. In his video, you can see MGK’s hands dripping with blood, and at one point his elbow swells.
“This is the most painful s— I’ve ever experienced in my life,” he notes.

At the end of the video, MGK is seen wearing an oxygen mask while sitting in a hyperbolic oxygen chamber, which he claims is meant to help his body “heal faster.”
The singer, whose real name is Colson Baker, received a flood of “likes” and comments on Instagram after he first revealed the new tattoo in February. At the time, his tattoo artist, ROXX, also took to social media to share his latest work. “Made some art with @machinegunkelly I’ve never met more fervor,” the artist captioned the photo.

MGK’s fiance, Megan Fox, shared her thoughts on the shocking tattoo transformation during an appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call her dad podcast in March.
The actress, 37, said she thinks the tattoo is “really elegant” and noted that MGK has a “special story” that only he can tell.
“But the relationship with the tattoos that he had was very emotionally conflicted, whatever they represented – and I don’t really know – but he didn’t like to reminisce about some of the tattoos that he had and he wanted to get rid of them,” he said. is to Fox Cooper.
“It’s like an elevated version of all those tattoos put together,” Fox continued. “I think it’s really elegant and kind of ahead of its time. I think in 10 years it’s going to be a trend.”
The actress also revealed that MGK didn’t go under anesthesia for the tattoo and said she couldn’t imagine how he “endured that level of pain.”
