Although Mark Estes entered Kristin Cavallari’s DM without problems, he still felt nervous before their first date.
The former collegiate athlete, who is one of three members of the successful TikTok group Montana Boyz, told Page Six how he was “a little nervous” when he met Cavallari, 37, on their first date.
“Along with the first date, I was definitely a little nervous,” the 24-year-old social media star explained. “But yeah, it was great, and yeah, I’d say there was instant chemistry.”
“From an outside perspective, it was pretty instant,” bandmate Kaleb Winterburn added, recalling to Page Six how Estes was “on fire” when Laguna Beach alum responded to his direct message.
“He mustered up the courage to do it,” he said. “And then he did it on the wrong account, but then, she saw it, and he was pretty ecstatic the next day.”

Things went really well on that first date, which led the two to make things official shortly after.
“She’s just super confident. She’s obviously gorgeous. She is also an amazing person and a great mother. So yeah, pretty much [the] the full package,” Estes said of his girlfriend.
But while the two may be crazy about each other, others online have pointed out that they have a 13-year age difference. Cavallari previously addressed this, saying on a previous episode of her podcast, Let’s be honest with Kristin Cavallari“I want you to know that me dating a 24-year-old is not something that I, like, asked for… I’m not going to lie to you, like the age thing was a barrier for me at first.”
However, she has now admitted: “I don’t care and I’m all for this guy and I don’t care what anyone thinks.”
Estes echoed his sentiments in his interview with Page Six, saying he doesn’t mind the comments online about their romance between the years.
“You definitely have to block it out and just have tunnel vision and a vision of where we’re going, what we want to do in the future,” he explained. “So we don’t really let that get in our way.”

On the March 12 episode of her podcast, Let’s be honest with Kristin CavallariThe reality star revealed that she received a direct message from the Montana Boyz Instagram account that read: “I love you.”
Cavallari later revealed the sweet message was from Estes, whom she described as “the hottest guy” she and longtime friend Justin Anderson had “ever seen.”
“Yeah, I thought I was working for myself and I sent her a DM,” Estes previously told PEOPLE. “The next day we woke up and [my friend] was like, ‘Who DM’d Kristin?’ I said, ‘Oh, that was me.'”
The two then went on their first date the day before Valentine’s Day this year, and kicked off their relationship in February while vacationing together in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Estes also shared with PEOPLE that the relationship was “going great” after taking the internet by storm.
“We love it,” Kade Wilcox — who makes up the final third of the Montana Boyz — said of his friend’s new romance. “[We] support it. It was fun.”
Winterburn added: “It was fun meeting her and getting to know her and everything about that whole world. It’s great to see.”
