Madonna ran through technical challenges on Wednesday night as she embarked on the final leg of her celebratory tour.
Before performing in front of a sold-out crowd of 14,000 fans at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the Queen of Pop, 65, faced “problems during sound check that pushed the schedule an hour behind schedule,” a source told PEOPLE exclusively.
Although the doors still didn’t open for fans until after 7:30 p.m., the pop icon was “checking the sound until they fixed the issues,” the source added. (Despite reports that she was three hours late, the source adds that the night’s schedule was only pushed back by an hour.)

After Madonna took the stage, the show went smoothly as she sang a string of hits from her decades-long career, including “Like a Prayer,” “Vogue” — and “I Love New York,” a new addition to the show from her hometown of the city.
At one point during the concert, the pop diva appeared to have sound problems while speaking on stage, telling fans she heard an “echo” in her ear.
Despite all the distractions, the audience was on their feet, dancing and singing all night long.
While performing her 1990 classic “Vogue,” Madonna brought out her boxing trainer boyfriend Josh Popper to serve as referee.
