The incident happened on the eastbound carriageway between junction 5, Sittingbourne and junction 6, Faversham, at around 8pm on November 20.
Hundreds of drivers were trapped in icy conditions on the M2 last night after the crash, but were later freed from the rear.
Kent Police advise that the closure will remain in place until midday today for a specialist investigation and clearance work.
“The M2 in Kent is closed eastbound between J5 near Stockbury and J6 Faversham,” National Highways wrote on X last night.
“This is due to a heavy collision between a truck and a pedestrian.
“All emergency services are on scene.”
The M2 eastbound remains closed between junctions 5 and 6 and there is no immediate estimate of when the road will reopen.
One driver said last night: “We’ve been stuck here for hours without any updates. It’s cold and there’s no way to leave.”
Anyone with information about the collision is urged to contact Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
A Kent Police spokesman said: “Drivers are being warned of significant delays on the M2 following a serious collision involving a pedestrian on the Coastal Road.
“The collision happened at around 8.10pm on Wednesday, November 20, between junction 5 near Stockbury and junction 6 for Faversham.
“Police and other emergency services are at the scene and the road towards the coast is expected to remain closed for several hours.
“Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and are urged to check the Motorway website for travel updates.”
