Mandy Moore Shares Pic of ‘Sweet’ Newborn, Urges Followers to ‘Hold Tight to Loved Ones’ amid L.A. Fires

As fires rage in Los Angeles, Mandy Moore is thankful for her family.

On Friday, January 10, the mother of three shared an adorable photo of her youngest child via social media after previously announcing that she had lost most of her Altadena, California home in the Eaton Fire.

“My sweet LouLou Bean. Hold tight to your loved ones, friends. I love you LA,” Moore, 40, captioned a photo of her daughter Louise “Lou” Everett Goldsmith posted to Instagram.

In the picture, Lou smiled as she snuggled into her car seat holding her mother’s finger.

The This is us alum gave birth to a baby girl with her husband Taylor Goldsmith in September 2024. The couple, who have been married since 2018, are also parents to sons August “Gus” Harrison Goldsmith, 3, and Oscar “Ozzie” Bennett Goldsmith, 2.

Earlier this week, Moore said her family and community had suffered a great loss since the deadly fire in Eaton.

“I am in shock and feel numb for all that many have lost, including my family. My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurants, straightened out. So many friends and loved ones also lost everything. Our community is broken, but we will be here to rebuild it together,” she said on Instagram on Wednesday, January 8.

The carousel featured two videos of her driving to check out the neighborhood and survey the damage.

The next day, she discovered that “miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing.”

Why more than 800 inmates are involved in fighting the fires in LA

Unfortunately for the “Only Hope” singer, that’s all that was left, next to the ruins.

“Not habitable, but mostly intact,” she wrote. “We lost the garage and the back house. Everyone we know has lost everything. Every house on our street is gone.”

More than 14,000 acres have burned in the Eaton Fire as of Friday night, according to Cal Fire. It is currently limited to 3%.

On Tuesday, January 7, the wildfires started in the Pacific Palisades along the Pacific Coast Highway, but have since spread into multiple steady fires across the LA area.

The dry vegetation created the perfect environment for the flame to spark, while strong winds provided the fuel for its spread. In addition to natural factors, city officials also faced a backlash when Palisades fire hydrants ran out of water.

The fire, which is still raging, burned more than 21,000 hectares on Friday night.

Earlier in the day, California Gov. Gavin Newsom called for an investigation into the “deeply troubling” accident, adding that “although water supplies from local fire hydrants are not designed to extinguish large-area wildfires, the loss of supplies from fire hydrants likely compromised the effort to protect some homes and evacuation corridors.”

“We need answers as to how this happened,” he said.
