Manjit Singh Gill is a Malaysian musician, lawyer and sports administrator living in India. He is best known for the Malaysian-Indian music duo “Goldkartz”, which he formed in 2005 with his brother Sukhjit Singh Gill. In 2023, the duo released the song “Sab Gazab”, a collaboration with popular Indian rapper Badshah.

Manjit Singh Gill was born in 1985 in Malaysia (38 years old; as of 2023). He completed his O Level secondary education at St. Michael’s College, Ipoh, Kinta, Perak, Malaysia. He studied the pre-university course “Cambridge A Level” at Taylor’s University, Selangor, Malaysia. In 2007, he obtained his Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the International Islamic University Malaysia. In 2011, he studied at the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in Oxford, UK. He later received an Advanced Sports Management Diploma from the Swiss International Olympic Committee.

In 2009, Manjit Singh Gill started working as an Advocate and Solicitor with a law firm called “Darshan, Syed, Amarjit & Partners”. In the same year, he was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Malaysian National Sikh Movement “GerakSikh” (the national Sikh organization in Malaysia). The following year, he was appointed secretary-general of the Malaysian Extreme Sports Association (MESA). In June 2013, the Asian Extreme Sports Federation (AXF) appointed him as Secretary-General, making him the first and youngest Malaysian to be elected Secretary-General of the sports association. He also served as the Managing Director of the security services provider “Karokam Sdn Bhd” and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

In 2005, Manjit Singh Gill formed the music duo “Goldkartz” with his brother Sukhjit Singh Gill. The two highlighted themes of romance and joy in the song. Their songs blend traditional Punjabi music with Malaysian rhythms, which makes their singing style unique. The duo released their first album, Loaded (2008), under the multinational record label EMI. The album was released in Malaysia to moderate success, selling over 5,000 CDs in the country.
In 2011, their second album 24 Karaatz was released in Malaysia, the United Kingdom, India and several other countries, marking the duo’s international debut. The album is distributed by multinational record label Warner Music.
In the same year, the brother and sister duo sang the song “Mauja” for the Bollywood film “Chala Mussaddi Office” starring Pankaj Kapur. Their song “Desi Patola” (2015) was released on several music channels including PTC, Tashaan, BritAsia, Jus Punjabi and Zee TV.
The ‘Goldkartz’ duo have collaborated on various music projects and events with a number of big names including Rishi Rich, Mumzy Stranger, Tigerstyle and Punjabi by Nature (PBN) in the UK and Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam and Badshah in India. In 2023, the brother and sister teamed up with popular Indian rapper Badshah to create the song “Sab Gazab” with Ileana D’Cruz.
Some of the duo’s other famous tracks include “Ha Karde”, “Gidhe Vich Nach”, “Marjava”, “Put Sardara De”, “Naal Nachna” and “Rock With You”.
