Manorama (1926-2008) was a famous child actor, villain, comedian and character actor in the Indian film industry. He had a career spanning nearly six years and made more than 160 films. Best known for her role as the humorous tyrannical aunt in “Seeta Aur Geeta” (1972), she also starred in other hit films such as “Ek Phool Do Mali” (1969) and “Do Kaliyaan” (1968).

Manorama was born Irene Isaac Daniels on Monday, August 16, 1926, in Lahore, Punjab, British India (now Lahore, Pakistan) (she died aged 81). Her zodiac sign is Leo. She studied classical singing and dancing and became a skilled performer. In the 1940s, she performed at Red Cross shows in Lahore. When she was nine years old, Rupp. Famous film producer K. Manorama started her career as a child actress in Lahore in 1936 under the pseudonym “Baby Iris”. After this, she started her adult work in 1941 and starred in the film “Khazanchi” (1941).

After her marriage to actor Rajan Haksar, she started taking small roles and then started playing villains or comedic roles. Manorama suffered a stroke in 2007, and although her condition improved, she was still unable to speak clearly and had other complications. Sadly, she passed away on 15th February 2008 in Chakop, Mumbai.
