On December 13, 2023, Manoranjan D and Sagar Sharma interrupted the proceedings of the Lok Sabha by jumping from the visitors’ gallery to the Lok Sabha chamber at zero hour and creating a smoke screen by releasing yellow smoke from a canister they carried in their shoes. They chanted slogans against the dictatorship, an end to it and slogans of patriotism, while calling for protection of the constitution. Manoranjan D tries to get closer to the front row. The security breach occurred on the anniversary of the 2001 attack on parliament. Manoranjan D and Sagar Sharma, along with two other accused, have been charged under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 16 (Punishment for Acts of Terrorism) of the UAPA ) and Section 18 (Punishment for terrorist acts, conspiracy, etc.) and IPC Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 452 (trespass), 153 (wanton provocation with intent to cause riot), 186 (Obstruction of a public servant in the discharge of his official duties) and Section 353 (Assault or Criminal Offense) Force to prevent a public servant from the discharge of his duties).

- Manorajan D used to read many books of Swami Vivekananda. He even refused to get married, preferring to immerse himself in his studies. He served as a student leader while in college.
- Manoranjan D got to know all the other accused involved in the security breach incident through an Instagram page called ‘Bhagat Singh Fan Club’.
- Police revealed that Manoranjan obtained a visitor pass from the office of Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha on the pretext of visiting the new Parliament building.
- His father claimed that former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda helped his son get an engineering seat in Bengaluru.
