Manu Bhaker is an Indian professional shooter who rose to fame after representing India in the 2018 ISSF World Cup. Manu Bhaker was born on 18 February 2002 in Goria village, Jhajjar, Haryana (21 years old; as of 2023). She attended Universal Public High School in the same town.

Manu Bhaker was born in a Jat family. His father, Ram Kishan Bhaker, was a chief engineer of merchant ships and his mother, Sumedha, was a school teacher. She has a brother, Ahir.

Profession
Before starting his career as a professional shooter, Manu Bhaker joined Virender Sehwag Coaching School in Jhajjar and also pursued boxing and kickboxing. She retired from boxing due to an eye injury she sustained while playing volleyball in a warm-up match.
She participated in various other sports, from tartan to judo, but she was not interested in them and soon quit.
Finally, she visited the school’s shooting range, picked up a pistol and fired 7.5 rounds. Ever since he first tried a pistol, Manu Bhaker has been hailed as India’s next shooting superstar.
Her mentor was Jaspal Rana, who inspired her to take shooting seriously.

- After becoming the first Indian shooter to win a gold medal at the Youth Olympics, Haryana Sports Minister Anil Vij tweeted that the Haryana government will provide a cash reward of Rs. 2 Crores to Manu Bakker. The pistol shooter is now in the news for posting a screenshot of Vij’s tweet, in which he promised her a cash reward and asked if it was actually a promise or just some phrases. This sparked a controversy and left the sports minister angry.
