Carey and Live Nation Las Vegas will donate $1 from every ticket purchased for Mariah Carey: A Celebration of Mimi Live in Las Vegas at Dolby Live at Park MGM to Mariah Fonda’s Camp for Fresh Air.

This will mark the third residency of the “Opsesed” artist. In 2015, she launched #1 to infinity, which featured all 18 of Carey’s US No. 1 singles, at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Then in 2018, she returned for The Butterfly Returns.

Carey released Emancipation Mimi, her 10th studio album, in April 2005, with hits such as “We Belong Together” and “Shake It off.” It sold six million copies in the US alone — 10 million worldwide. It also earned the R&B icon 10 Grammy nominations.

“In terms of greatest hits, [The Emancipation of Mimi] it was definitely a very successful album, so people said, ‘It’s a comeback album,’” Carey said Board 2020. “For me, it was more like putting a lot of things together with that album than a comeback album. But they can call it that if they want.”

Carey also explained that the album and its successful reception made it a special part of her career and even helped attract many new fans.

“I look at it as a very important period in my career, a very significant period for me as an artist,” she said. “It was a feeling of triumph when it was equally successful. I know a lot of people also got to know me from that album. So I just wish people would take away the music from that album. I hope it makes people feel good. That’s the goal.”
