In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE for this week’s issue, Arthur the king star shares that he, wife Rhea Durham, and their four children are happily settled in Las Vegas following their big move from California in 2022.

“It’s a place where my kids can thrive, do their own thing and pursue their interests,” the 52-year-old actor says of the family’s new home.

Wahlberg and Durham – who married in August 2009 – have daughters Ella, 20, and Grace, 14, and sons Michael, 17, and Brendan, 15.

When Father Stu star first revealed in the fall of 2022 that his family had left California, he shared his vision of building a studio and turning Las Vegas into “Hollywood 2.0.”

“Hopefully after this gubernatorial election, we’ll go into the legislature and pass a bill so we can get tax credits for the state, build a state-of-the-art studio here and make this Hollywood 2.0,” he said on Conversation in that time.

“I want to be able to work from home,” the star added.

Wahlberg went on to explain that he “only made a few movies the whole time” he lived in California.

“Being able to give my kids a better life and pursue and pursue their dreams — whether it’s my daughter as a rider, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer — this made a lot more sense to us,” he continued.
