Mark Wahlberg’s restaurant in Las Vegas has recovered from a large fire on the terrace.
A spokesperson for Flech Cantina told PEOPLE that the fire broke out on Nov. 6 after “a broken firebox caught fire on the bottom.”
The fire brigade immediately came and put it out, the spokesman said. “There is no damage inside the restaurant. The only damage was the fireplace and a chair next to it. Fortunately, no one was injured.”
@LasVegasLocally on X shared a video of the fire raging outside Flech.
The fire occurred the night before Wahlberg is expected to celebrate a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 7, three weeks after the restaurant’s September 14 opening. The event is going ahead as planned, PEOPLE confirms.
Around 5:30 p.m., the Clark County Fire Department received a report of a fire that had spread to the restaurant’s patio, according to a press release obtained by PEOPLE. Upon arrival, sprinklers were already activated and the restaurant was evacuated.
The fire did not spread to the interior of the building, the fire department confirmed, and appeared to be contained to a lone propane fire pit — a flat, outdoor fire pit. According to surveillance camera footage, the fire started from the inner part of the firefighting table itself.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire enough to shut off the propane tanks that were fueling the fire.
A Flech spokesman confirmed that “the sprinkler company returned and refilled the system and the restaurant reopened at 7pm.”
The Las Vegas restaurant is a “fusion of traditional Mexican flavors with innovative twists,” according to a press release. It follows the success of Flech in Huntington Beach, California, which recently opened on June 8.

Wahlberg moved to Las Vegas with his wife Rhea Durham and their four children from California in 2022. The move supported Wahlberg’s acting career—since he “only made a few movies the entire time” he lived in California—and lent his family a newfound freedom .
“It’s a place where my kids can thrive, do what they want to do and pursue their interests,” Wahlberg told PEOPLE in March. “To be able to give my children a better life and follow and pursue their dreams — whether it’s my daughter as a rider, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer — this made a lot more sense to us.”
