Masked Singer: Group B Contestant Gives '1 of the Best Performances' Rita Ora Has 'Ever Seen' in the Show's History

Group B got heads for their debut on Sports Night.

Masked singerThe October 16 episode opened with Rita Ora and Robin Thicke’s duet in the ring to the Scorpions’ “Rock You Like a Hurricane”. Host Nick Cannon announced Ora, 33, as the winner, with guest commentators Nikki Glaser and Joel McHale commentating throughout the night.

Wasp took the stage first and revealed Season 10 winner Ne-Yo, aka Cow, as his Masked ambassador.

“I’ve known him since he was just on the scene, and he became a huge success listening to my words of wisdom,” said Ne-Yo, 44. “I think he has what it takes to win the Golden Mask trophy.”

In his trail packet, which included boxing gloves, Wasp said: “I grew up in a tough neighborhood. There was no reason to pull out, but I learned to dig deep and fight.”

Insect wowed the panel, which also included Ken Jeong and Jenny McCarthy, with Justin Timberlake’s “Rock Your Body.”

“I think you’re going to be very hard to attack,” Thicke, 47, said.

As an additional clue, each contestant received a sneaker representing their life, and Wasp received a pair of basketball sneakers.

“Fresh shots help me stay in the game,” Wasp explained.

The judges thought the Wasp could be Jason Derulo, Taye Diggs or Bruno Mars.

The chess piece made the next move.

It turns out that Glaser, 40, is a chess piece Masked The ambassador and comedian — who competed as Snowstorm in Season 8 — called Chess Piece “the most fashion-forward friend I know.”

“Sometimes I felt like an unprotected pawn,” Chess Piece said in his clue pack. “People doubted me my whole life, but I had to believe in myself and make bold moves to secure my crown and that leadership role that changed my game.”

“I have been told since childhood that I can’t sing, that I am deaf, that I should stop,” said Chess Piece after the performance. “But I love to sing, so I keep doing it. This is really scary and vulnerable, but I’m taking another risk to see what happens.”

The sneakers served as an additional clue to Chess Piece, and they explained: “In the first round of the match, love serves love.”

Model Ashley Graham, actress Regina King and tennis star Serena Williams appeared as options for Chess Piece.

Bluebell followed Chess Piece and showed promise as a budding contender.

It’s a flower Masked Ambassador Kelly Osbourne – Ladybug from season two – said Bluebell “certainly knows a thing or two about tabloid fodder.”

“I should know, we even hit the headlines together,” continued Osbourne, 39. “She became a worldwide success overnight. But with great fame comes great gossip.”

In her clues packet, Bluebell said: “While my career was flourishing, there were rumors about my alleged relationship with rock stars, billionaires and even royalty. It’s true that my true love didn’t bloom until recently.”

The package also contained a guitar, a dog and a pair of ripped jeans.

Bluebell turned to Pat Benatar’s “We Belong” and was given roller skates as an extra clue.

“I try to deal with the situation, but I always get out,” Bluebell said.

The committee suggested that Bluebell could be Ellie Goulding, Leighton Meester or Taylor Momsen.

Then Dick Van Dyke — Season 9’s Gnome — welcomed his friend Dust Bunny Masked singer.

“Singing has always been a secret ambition of mine,” Dust Bunny said in his clue pack, which included a shake, coffee and mask.

Dust Bunny mentioned that, in addition to Van Dyke (98), he worked with David Bowie, Anne Hathaway and Marlon Brando.

Dust Bunny chose Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” as his Masked singer debut.

Afterwards, the Men in Black brought out a pair of skates for Dust Bunny’s athletic shoes.

“My attitude in this contest is to burn it down in a blaze of glory,” Dust Bunny said.

Will Ferrell, Jay Leno and John C. Reilly emerged as possibilities for the Dust Bunny attitude.

Last: Goo, who got an introduction from Gargoyle season 9, Keenan Allen.

“Growing up, I wanted to tackle everything that came my way, but inside I was really sensitive, full of emotions,” Goo said in his clue pack. “When my older brother started playing the guitar, I found my escape.”

The package also included a train with disco balls and a horn. “I became a complete music geek, started a capella groups, a music lab and even won awards,” Goo said.

Goo covered “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims.

“It was one of the best performances I’ve ever seen in the history of this show,” Ora said.

Goo got a pair of musical boots for his extra clue.

“For me, you want to focus on the sole of the shoe,” Goo said.

The judges guessed that Goo could be Jon Batiste, Khalid or Shaboozey.

After the judges and the studio audience voted for their favorite performance of the night, Cannon, 44, revealed Dust Bunny had received the fewest votes and would be unmasking. Actor and comedian Andy Richter appeared when Dust Bunny got rid of the dirt and took off his mask.
