Max Greenfield and His Rescue Pup Host Furry Friendsgiving for Actor’s Pals and Their Pets

Max Greenfield knows how to plan a precious Friendsgiving.

On November 19 New girl actor and his wife, Tess Sanchez, hosted Furry Friendsgiving at their home in Los Angeles. Like the traditional Friends Day, the couple’s friends in attendance, including Malin Akerman, Lukas Gage, Zachary Quint and Dylan Mulvaney, enjoyed a Thanksgiving-themed meal ahead of the holiday. In furry style, the party included canine guests.

Human attendees were encouraged to bring their dogs to the Friendsgiving celebration, which Greenfield hosted with Ollie to celebrate the arrival of the fresh dog food brand in Petco stores. While pet parents enjoyed traditional Thanksgiving fare, canine attendees were treated to pet-safe treats made with Ollie products and plenty of treats like custom dog bowls and caricatures.

Among the dogs enjoying the event was Greenfield and Sanchez’s dog Darlene, who the couple adopted in July from Los Angeles-based Wags and Walks rescue. Before moving in with the couple, Darlene was in rescue for more than 400 days, waiting for a home.

“We are thrilled to share that after 400 days (!!) in our care, our beautiful baby girl Darlin has found a forever home with one of our favorite rescue advocates,” Wags and Walks announced about the adoption in July, adding “According to them, ‘Darlin is a million dollar dog. We knew she was the one the first day we brought her home!'”

To help other shelter dogs find their dream match like Darlene did with her famous family, Ollie donated funds to Wags and Walks on behalf of all Furry Friendsgiving guests. While Greenfield and Sanchez mingled with animal lovers at Furry Friendsgiving, Darlene made sure all the pooches were having a good time.

Darlene and her four-legged Friendsgiving guests aren’t the only pets enjoying the holidays at home. Elvis, a rescue dog from Chicago, recently found his forever home with the help of thousands of online fans.

The dog first gained traction on November 14, when The Anti-Cruelty Society posted on Facebook about the pooch, sharing that Elvis was the only dog who had not found a home through a recent shelter adoption. The post received over 2,900 reactions and 6,500 shares. The reaction of animal lovers to Elvis’ story drew the attention of Loren Michael Agron and his partner Drew Wilhelm to the pooch.

The couple applied to adopt the dog and it turned out to be an ideal match for a rescue dog, especially since Agron used to work as an Elvis impersonator.

“His foster parents waited for the right time to welcome the dog into their family, and when they saw Elvis on the news, they couldn’t deny that it was destiny!” The Society Against Cruelty released an announcement about Elvis’ adoption.
