For the first time, Molly-Mae Hague sheds light on what led up to her split from Tommy Fury last summer.
In a new interview with British Vogue25-year-old woman Love Island UK The alum said the breakup — which she announced on her Instagram Stories in August — “was a bit of a shock” as she found the “circumstances” to be particularly challenging.
“I didn’t want what happened to happen,” she said and repeated that “I wanted to marry Tommy, one hundred percent, and that would never change.”

They even picked a date and planning was in full swing at the time of the split, Hague revealed. “I was going to get married next September and it’s very hard when it’s taken away from me.”
While she insisted she will “always have a lot of love and respect” for the boxer, 25, she said it was a “really deep situation” and was “really sad”.

“No one will ever know what happened but Tommy and I, and we’d like to keep it that way, for Bambi’s sake,” she said of the real circumstances that led to the split, referring to one of the couple’s one-and-a-half-year-old daughters.
She does, however, think Fury will “eventually talk about things,” as she seemingly hinted to the paper that the breakup was the result of something on his end.
“I think when he’s ready, maybe more will be said. But I think it’s up to him on his terms,” she said. “It’s not gossip. It’s real life.”

For now, they are focused on co-parenting, with Hague saying they are “both really mature about it”.
Fury similarly said that Bambi is the couple’s top priority and because of her, the details of the split will always be kept in the public eye.

“Everybody’s going to point fingers when something comes up to jump in, but at the end of the day, out of respect for Molly and out of respect for myself, and you know, our relationship and us, I’m going to let us deal with it as privately as we can,” he said on ITV This morning last month.
Fury also admitted that things have been “difficult” since announcing the break-up as “there have been a lot of critics”, while briefly addressing rumors of infidelity on his part that have been circulating since August. “I’ll leave all those things to me and Molly to deal with.”
