Mayilsamy is an Indian actor, theater artist, presenter and philanthropist. He is famous for his comedy roles in Tamil films. The actor died of cardiac arrest on February 19, 2023, at the age of 57.

Before starting her acting career, Mayilsamy worked as a parody artist. He also worked for stunt master Kanal Kannan, who recorded imitations of his voice to be used as background scores for stunt scenes.

Mayilsami made his acting debut in the 1984 Tamil film Dhavani Kanavugal, in which he made a brief appearance as a member of the crowd.

In 1996, Mayilsami made his debut in Sun TV’s television show “Marmadesam”, in which he played the role of Santhanakrishnan. In 2003, he served as the host of the show “Comedy Time” for the first time and was warmly welcomed by the audience. He subsequently hosted various television shows including Jaya TV’s Timekku Comedy (2005) and Sun TV’s Lollupa (2019). In 2007, he served as a judge in SUN TV’s show “Asathapovathu Yaaru”.

Mayilsami passed away due to cardiac arrest at around 5:30 am on February 19, 2023. According to some sources, Mayilsamy returned home after the performance and complained of feeling uneasy, after which he was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him dead. In an interview, Rajinikanth said about the death of Mayilsamy:

It was not a coincidence that he (Maoir Sami) died on Shivaratri but (pointing to the sky) his calculation. He (Lord Shiva) gave his pious devotion on his (Lord Shiva) appropriate day The leader (Mayelsami) summoned him to his side.”

Facts/Trivia

  • Mayilsamy is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. He visits the Marundeeswarar temple in Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai every year. Before his death, he performed for Mahashivaratri along with drummer Shivamani at the Kelambakkam Shiva temple in Vandalur on February 17, 2023. In an interview, drummer Shivamani said that Mayilsamy shared his last wish to take Rajinikanth to the Kelambakkam Shiva temple upon their death. Perform there. Shivamani said,

    Mayilsamy told me, “I have brought (late) Vivek sir to this temple. I have also brought you (Drums Shivamani). My last wish is to bring superstar Rajinikanth to This temple, let him do milk abishakam on the lingam here.”
