Meg Ryan Says Taylor Swift Is 'Hands Down the Queen' After Attending London Eras Tour Show

The queen of rom-com bows to her pop culture colleagues!

After attending one of Taylor Swift’s London Eras Tour shows, Meg Ryan praised the music superstar, 34, for a great performance — and called her a “queen!”

The day after the concert on Friday, August 16 at Wembley Stadium, The When Harry met Sally The 62-year-old star was still reeling from Swift’s career-spanning set, and she let her followers know on Instagram.

“Last night at Wembley… WOW,” Ryan wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of two hands stacked with friendship bracelets, an Eras Tour staple inspired by a line from Swift’s “You’re on Your Own, Kid.”

“Thank you, @taylorswift,” the actress continued in the caption. “You are the queen without a doubt!”

The rom-com vet tipping her hat to Swift — plus, she joins a slew of stars who have already attended and praised the Eras Tour — comes months after the pair made headlines together for overlapping movie release dates.

Last fall, the film company Bleecker Street pushed back the release date What happens later — which marked Ryan’s much-anticipated return to the rom-com genre — in three weeks to avoid competing with the singer’s concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.

It was originally scheduled to hit theaters on October 13 – the same day as Eras Tour premiering exclusively in AMC theaters — What happens later opened on November 3rd instead.

Ryan just missed Ed Sheeran’s cameo — the “Perfect” singer made a surprise appearance at Swift’s Aug. 15 performance — but she caught Swift’s sweet shout-out to her parents.

After thanking the crowd for a standing ovation at her Aug. 16 London show, the “Karma” singer included a witty critique of her parents, joking that they were most likely documenting the interaction.

“I guarantee my parents were just recording it on their phones,” she told the audience, which can be seen in fan-recorded footage shared on X (formerly Twitter).

“So whenever I’m having a sad or bad day, not only will I play the video in my mind, but I’ll go back to that moment a lot,” she continued. “Thank you so much for doing this.”
