MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry’s team have hit out at Princess Kate’s edited pictures saga and defiantly declared the Sussexes will “never make the same mistake”.
But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were called out for editing their own picture back in 2019, when royal fans noticed strange inconsistencies in their Christmas card.

Princess Kate was forced to issue a public apology yesterday after admitting she edited a cute Mother’s Day photo of herself and Prince William’s children.
The Sun’s picture desk has found 12 clues that show possible editing – including a cut sleeve, a mismatched zip and Charlotte’s angular skirt.
A source told Page Six today that exiled British royals Harry and Meg “would be devastated” if they shared secretly Photoshopped pictures of themselves and their family.
They added: “The same rules do not apply to both couples.
“This is not a mistake Meghan would ever make…she has a sharp eye and an uncanny attention to detail.”
However, the Sussexes have been accused of editing their Christmas card photo with baby Archie in 2019.
Royal fans were quick to question why Meghan’s face was in sharp focus while Harry’s was overly blurred despite the fact that they were the same distance from the camera.
One said on social media: “Look at Meghan’s face, it’s photoshopped.
“Her face is clear and everything else is blurred. Archie’s is also Photoshopped.”
Another vehemently said: “This is quite possibly the worst Photoshopped image I’ve ever seen. And again in black and white.”
Prince William issues urgent environmental statement after blasting Princess Kate’s Photoshop drama
The sun brightened the image and it seemed to show even more clearly that Meghan’s face had been added.
Last night the Princess of Wales was said to be “very sad” as the cute snap sparked global outrage.
She is believed to have changed it three times on a computer before it was posted on social media on Sunday.
A check of the original image revealed that it was taken on a Canon camera with a 50mm lens.
It was edited three times in Adobe Photoshop — once on Friday night and twice on Saturday.
Experts claim that several areas have been altered – from Charlotte’s cuff to even Kate having her face replaced.
Kate is let down, in my opinion.

Like any mother, she tried to make the photo as good as possible and never intended for it to become a big controversy.
Photo agencies pulled, or “killed”, the image when the differences were discovered – with the BBC’s bulletins running a feud all day yesterday.
Kate turned heads from photographers yesterday as she left Windsor Castle by car with a brooding William by her side.
Last night, Kensington Palace refused to release the original photo, explain which parts had been altered or say why.
But it said that one photo was processed, not several pictures together.
As if to dispel crazy conspiracy theories about Kate’s health, the palace added: “The Wales family spent Mother’s Day together and had a wonderful day.”
The Sun’s photographer Arthur Edwards said that, despite the editing, the image was still “lovely”.
WHY WERE ‘KILL NOTICES’ ISSUED?
News agencies issued a “murder alert” on the picture late Sunday night.
The takedown orders were sent after “manipulation” of the image was discovered.
The AP’s order stated that the reason for the story’s cancellation was: “On closer inspection, it appears that the source manipulated the image.”
The order then directs those who used the photo to remove it from all platforms, including social media.
Agence France-Presse ordered a “mandatory kill” due to “editorial issues” and ordered that the image should no longer be used.
Reuters said the photo was “retracted after review of the post.”
Getty Images said: “For editorial reasons, please remove the following images from your system and do not use them in any way.”
The Getty said its image desk “identified the problematic image” submitted by the palace and removed it from its site “in accordance with our editorial policy.”
The PA said: “Like other news agencies, PA Media yesterday released in good faith an image of the Princess of Wales and her children which was provided by Kensington Palace.
“We have become aware of concerns about the image and issued a report last night about it and made it clear that we are seeking urgent clarification of the image from Kensington Palace.
“In the absence of that clarification, we are killing the image from our image service.”
Each news agency has its own editorial guidelines that govern how they treat images.
The AP says that images “must always tell the truth” and that it does not alter or manipulate the content of the photo in any way.
Its guidelines say: “The content of the photograph may not be altered in PhotoShop or in any other way. No element may be digitally added to or subtracted from any photograph.”
However, AP says that minor adjustments are allowed, these include cropping, color adjustments, and lighting adjustments.
He added: “Maybe it was a fake attempt at photo manipulation, but I still think it’s a wonderful picture.
“Kate looks radiant and so proud on Mother’s Day, surrounded by her loving children. It’s full of love and emotion.
“Kate may have tampered with other parts of the picture, but there is no forgery.”
Rob Jobson, author of Our King: Charles III – The Man and the Monarch Revealed, told The Sun it was not Kate’s fault.
Mr Jobson said “we can’t really blame Kate” but added that Kensington Palace should have known she “didn’t pass the check”.
He added: “It didn’t pass that test, if you like, and that’s because it was quite an amateur job.
“So there really should have been some advisers doing that job, making sure that in this modern world of modern communications, you can’t mess with photos that are passed off as official photos.
Like many amateur photographers, I occasionally experiment with editing.

“It damages the integrity of the organization releasing the photo.”
He added that Kate had “done them a favour” by accepting responsibility for the breakdown.
“She’s probably let down, in my opinion,” he said.
Omid Scobie, a Harry and Meghan supporter, led the criticism, saying: “It’s getting harder and harder for the public to believe the words (and now the photo) they’re sharing.”
Kate (42), who is recovering from abdominal surgery, apologized in a statement yesterday morning.
She wrote: “Like many amateur photographers, I occasionally experiment with editing.
“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion caused by the family photo we shared yesterday. I hope everyone celebrating had a happy Mother’s Day.”
Kate’s confusion about ‘editing’ photos comes as:
- Princess Kate apologizes for “confusion” caused by inconsistencies in the family’s image
- Princess Kate was pictured with Prince William leaving Windsor Castle in a black Land Rover this afternoon
- Piers Morgan urges palace to share raw photo to quell internet sleuths
- Kate’s uncle Gary Goldsmith gives his verdict on the Mother’s Day picture as he speaks following his CBB eviction
- Photo agencies have issued a ‘murder notice’ on Princess Kate’s Mother’s Day photo
- Twitter warning over inconsistencies in Princess Kate photos
- King Charles releases a video message saying he will ‘continue to serve you, to the best of my ability’ amid his battle with cancer
- The Sun says to fire Kate – she’s just got it wrong
But Kate got sympathy because she showed up at the first opportunity.
It is assumed that she wanted to post a family photo as she does on Mother’s Day and knew that she would be under a lot of scrutiny.
The picture with George, 10, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, 5, was pulled by photo agencies late on Sunday amid fears it was fake.
Kate was last seen on public duty on Christmas Day.
She went to the London clinic 8 weeks ago for abdominal surgery.
The palace insists she is fine and is not expected to return to public duty until April.
William attended the Commonwealth Day ceremony at Westminster Abbey yesterday, while Kate had a private meeting in London.
