Meghan Markle is diving into her creative side on her new show With love, Meghan on Netflix, where the trailer shows activities loved by Kate Middleton and Pinterest enthusiasts.
On January 2, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, unveiled a trailer for her upcoming lifestyle series on her new Instagram account, writing that she was “so excited” to share the project. The teaser shows Meghan cooking, crafting and spending time with friends including Mindy Kaling, Abigail Spencer and Delfina Blaquier, hinting at what’s to come in the series premiering on January 15.
One highlight from the teaser shows Meghan trying her hand at beekeeping. Dressed in protective gear, she approaches the outer hive and glistens as she collects honey.
– Look how much honey we have! – she exclaims, smiling as she scrapes the honey off the frame.

The activity is reminiscent of Kate’s own beekeeping hobby, as the Princess of Wales also keeps bees at her country home, Anmer Hall. To celebrate World Bee Day 2023, Kate’s office shared a photo of her expertly tending to a hive in a beekeeping suit in a photo tagged Norfolk.
“We’re buzzing about #WorldBeeDay 🐝,” read the caption under the photo taken by Matt Porteus, one of her favorite photographers. “Bees are a vital part of our ecosystem and today is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the critical role that bees and other pollinators play in keeping people and the planet healthy.”

“Do you want to try it? This is special from my hive,” she said at the time, according to Rebecca English of Daily Mail. “Does it taste like store-bought honey? Does it taste like flowers?”
Prince William’s wife is not the only member of the royal family who is very interested in bees. Queen Camilla produces her own honey from hives at her country home in Lacock, Wiltshire, and in 2020 she became chair of the charity Bees for Development. Meanwhile, King Charles takes a spoonful of honey to sweeten his tea — making Queen Camilla’s hobby a real family affair!

The call to beekeeping also extends from Kate’s side of the family. Her younger brother James Middleton has spoken of his enjoyment of beekeeping as a “meditation” that benefits his mental health, revealing in an article for Daily Mail 2020 that he started beekeeping when members of the Middleton family (including Princess Kate!) gave him a colony of bees as a birthday present to start the hobby.
“I love spending time with my bees, checking, tracking, treating them and collecting their honey: it’s a soothing effort; a balm for troubled minds,” he wrote for Daily Mail. James has been open about managing depression, which is further reflected in his memoir, Meet Ellapublished in September 2024.

In the teaser, the Duchess of Sussex also dabbled in other hobbies such as cake decorating, flower arranging and hiking, and Netflix said she will include some practical uses in the series.
“Each episode, Meghan invites old and new friends to roll up their sleeves and join her in the kitchen, garden and beyond,” the streamer said in a statement about what’s to come. With love, Meghan. “Whether Meghan shares personal tips and tricks or takes the opportunity to learn something new, it’s time to connect. Guests include Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, Alice Waters, with additional acclaimed chefs and special friends.”
