Meghan Trainor Persuaded Her Brother Ryan to Get Botox: ‘Botox Bros!’

Meghan Trainor and her brother Ryan Trainor are officially “Botox bros!”

“Friends and family, I got Botox,” Ryan, 33, says on a recent episode of their podcast, Workin’ On It, airing Aug. 24.

“Woooooo” Meghan’s husband Daryl Sabara screams when he hears the news.

“Friends and family, I made it, there’s nothing I can’t do,” replies Meghan, 29. “Example A, I got Ryan to get botox.”

In the episode, Ryan talks more about his decision to continue injections. He says it happened after he moved to Los Angeles, where he now lives with Meghan, her husband and their two children – as well as another brother, Justin Trainor (27).

“This is me now, man, the LA lifestyle, the LA life, 30-plus you start banging your head,” Ryan says.

When he visited a plastic surgeon for the procedure, he explained, the doctor pointed out sun damage to his face. She told him it would only get worse and gave him sunscreen to prevent future damage.

“There’s not much you can do about these wrinkles he’s already created on his face,” Meghan said. “But we can pause them here.”

Meghan said she was getting injections from the same doctor in Beverly Hills – they call her “Dr.” B” — for several years. Botox, she says, is a blessing because it means that she is “aging and not gone.”

“I just want to freeze here, I want to look like this forever,” she says.

“But I don’t need Botox as much as people say,” adds Meghan. “Mine lasts so long, it’s great. And I think yours will too,” he says to his brother.

Meghan said the injections also improved her perioral dermatitis, which is a rash that often looks like small, red, acne-like breakouts, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. “Your skin looks flawless,” Sabara tells his wife.

But while both Meghan and Ryan rave about the positive impact Botox has had on their lives, they say it was difficult to deal with at first – and it’s not for everyone.

Meghan and Ryan show their audience behind-the-scenes footage of them going to the doctors together to get work done. Seeing that, the two can’t help but laugh. “It’s my eyebrows gone crazy!” Ryan says. Meghan replies, “You did so well bro.”

“Beauty is pain and it was very painful,” says Ryan. “I have a newfound respect for anyone who goes through this just to, you know, better themselves. It hurts. That’s many, many bee stings. I wasn’t prepared for how much. I said, ‘Oh, that’s probably two strikes.'”

“It was a lot of punches,” he continues. “I’d say, ‘I don’t want that many stitches,’ and she’d say, ‘Oh OK,’ and she probably did anyway. But thank you so much Meghan, you just want me to get better and I’m so blessed to have you in my life.”
