Michael Strahan is not coming back Good morning America this week after being absent from the show since late last month.
“Michael Strahan will not be with us this week as he is dealing with some personal family matters,” an ABC spokesperson told PEOPLE in a statement. “We appreciate everyone’s thoughts and concerns.”
Strahan was not in the program Good morning America from October 26. Night line co-host Juju Chang and World news tonightLinsey Davis replaced him in his absence.

The former professional footballer joined the morning news show full-time in 2016 after his exit Living with Kelly and Michael.

Strahan was also absent from his position as an analyst at Fox NFL Sunday for the last two weeks.
On Sunday, Fox Sports commentator Curt Menefee noted that Strahan was not on the show because he was “dealing with a personal family matter,” according to Los Angeles Times.
Representatives for Strahan declined to comment when contacted by PEOPLE.

Strahan also hasn’t posted on social media since Oct. 25, when he was promoting his game show, The $100,000 pyramid.
Strahan is the father of four adult children: Tanita, Michaela Jr., Isabella and Sophia. His two older children, Tanita (31) and Michaela Jr. (28) shares his first wife, Wanda Hutchins, with whom he was married from 1992 to 1996. He also shares 19-year-old twins Isabella and Sophia with his second wife Jean Muggli, whom he was married to from 1999 to 2006.
