Michelle Keegan says her marriage to Mark Wright is ‘boring’ as she reveals relationship shift

MICHELLE Keegan and husband Mark Wright are one of Britain’s most glamorous couples, with good looks, glittering careers and a £3.5m mansion in Essex.

But the Fool Me Once actress admitted that after nine years of marriage they had entered the ‘boring phase’ of their relationship.

Once a fan of late-night dinners in the early days of their romance, the 37-year-old now admits she now prefers an early night.

She said: “I’m happy to spend the night on the sofa with our dogs watching TV and relaxing, but we still like to dress up and go out for dinner.”

The actress told Closer Magazine: “In the old days, we used to go out for dinner and drinks until the early hours of the morning. But now, after dinner, I’ll look at the clock and say, “9:30 p.m., we’d better get home to sleep.” It’s a little more boring now.

The couple married at St Mary’s Church in Bury St Edmunds in 2015, followed by a lavish reception at the Tudor mansion of Hengrave Hall.

Since their wedding, the couple have been swamped with work, as Michelle’s acting career has taken her around the world and Mark, 37, has been busy with his role as a presenter on Heart FM, as well as various fitness initiatives.

Given their busy schedules, it’s no wonder the couple enjoy nights out together in their spare time, not least because they’ve designed and built their dream home.

Starting in 2021, the new construction features five bedrooms, a state-of-the-art gym, a movie theater, and an outdoor pool and sauna.

Last August, the couple hosted a housewarming party to celebrate the completion of the project.

Speaking about her dream villa, Michelle admits she’s feeling emotional after realizing her hard-won dream.

She told the Guardian: “She told The Guardian: “It still challenges me emotionally. Because we worked really hard for it. We had to make a lot of sacrifices.

“I missed a lot of milestones in my life because of work. Mark went to LA and we spent months apart, which was difficult. But it was worth it.”

Michelle went on to say that the house is also “about safety” because “you never know when this is going to end.”

The pair first met backstage on The X Factor before seeing each other at a number of other events afterwards.

A year later, the former TOWIE star asked Michelle out, making things official in 2012.

Mark popped the question to Michelle the following year during a romantic holiday in Dubai and they married in 2015.
