Robert Pattinson lived to see another day in his next film, Mickey 17.
The film comes from Bong Joon Ho, an Oscar-winning screenwriter and director Parasite and Snowpiercer. In the first trailer, which debuted on Tuesday, September 17, Pattinson, 38, is seen telling him: “It was nice knowing you. I wish you a pleasant death. See you tomorrow.”
Based on the 2022 novel Mickey 7 Edward Ashton, Mickey 17 also stars Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo.
A 30-second teaser for the film was launched in December 2022, when the Mickey 17The release date was originally planned for March 29, 2024.

Pattinson made a surprise appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in April to screen the film, sharing what drew him to the project.
“I’ve been Bongo’s biggest fan for many, many years; he’s my hero,” Pattinson said at the event, according to Entertainment Weekly. “They sent me the script; they said, ‘You’ll like the script, but the role is impossible.’ That was very, very exciting to me, I thought it was the most unusual, bizarre, funny scenario.”
The Batman the actor also expressed his excitement about playing “two very fun characters.”
“Mickey 17 is someone who has the lowest expectations in his life, and yet the world continues to push those expectations, to the point where he has a job that torments him every day. And then 18 comes along, and he has frontal lobe damage and no self-control, libido out of control ,” he said of the titular character. – It’s like I’m playing an evil brother or twin.
Mickey 17 it’s in theaters on January 31st.
