Amrik Singh, better known as Mika Singh, is an Indian pop singer and rapper. He came into limelight with the Punjabi song “Sawan Main Lag Gayi Aag”. He is the younger brother of Punjabi singer Daler Mehandi.

Mika Singh was born on June 10, 1977 in Durgapur, West Bengal (45 years; as of 2022). His zodiac sign is Gemini. His family originated from Punjab. Mika’s father, a former Keertan, sold his property in Punjab and moved to Patna to study music.

Mika grew up in a family of Gurbani singers and had a keen interest in music since childhood. He started playing the tabla when he was eight years old. At the age of 12, he learned the organ, and two years later, he started playing the guitar. He grew up in Patna, Bihar and Patiala along with his brothers. At the age of 15, Mika moved to Delhi and began his career as a Kirtan (religious) singer. He then composed the song “Dar Di Rabb Rabb Kardi” for his brother Daler Mehandi. The song became a super hit. Later, Mika started visiting various studios with the desire to sing. Many directors readily agreed to listen to his voice as he was Daler Mehandi’s brother but turned him down after hearing his unconventional voice. After facing rejection from several music directors, Singer decided to release his own music album.

His father, the late Ajmer Singh Chandan, was a musician and farmer, and his mother, Balbir Kaur, was a former national-level wrestler. He has five brothers and is the youngest among them. Mika Singh started his singing career in 2008 with the Punjabi song “Saawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag” which made him an overnight celebrity. Later, he released the albums “Gabru”, “Dunali”, “Something Something” and “Ishq Brandy”. In 2006, he made his singing debut in Bollywood by singing the song “Dil Tod Ke Na Ja (Remix)” from the movie “Pyaar Ke Side Effects”.
