In an interview with The Associated Press, Reaves revealed that his plans to pop the question depended on the Commanders winning their game, adding that “there’s no way I could have done it in the right spirit after the loss.”

“She deserved it. I can’t say enough about her,” he continued. “When I was at my lowest last year, she was there to pick me up every day. She appeared. That’s my best friend. He’s been my best friend since high school.”

In the interview, Reaves also talked about Worley’s unwavering support after he was injured last year, saying, “You can tell a lot about someone when they’re going through their worst and how they deal with it.”

“I had the hardest time last year when I got my ACL (torn),” he continued. “I couldn’t do anything, I couldn’t be my own man, and she was a crutch when I couldn’t do it myself.”
