Miley Cyrus Inspired by Choir with Elderly Participants Singing 'Used to Be Young': 'Lit My Heart Up'

Miley Cyrus finds a chorus that accepts everyone singing one of her most sentimental hits.

The “Malibu” singer, 31, left a comment on a recent video Pop Choir Australia posted on TikTok of its members (many of whom are older people) singing her hit “Used to Be Young.”

“Y’all are STILL beautiful! This video set my heart on fire. OA A moment like this is why I wrote U2BY!” In the comments on the TikTok video on Friday, June 28, Cyrus wrote: “Physical youth comes and goes, but the soul can stay young forever!! I love you all! Thanks for making my day.”

The video features a large group of people, dressed in casual clothes, harmonizing the ballad. Many of the singers appeared to be elderly and some used wheelchairs.

Although many of the people in the Australian group appear to be older, according to the website Pop Choir is for anyone who likes to sing.

“Pop Choir is a reimagined choir for anyone who loves to sing!” the website reads. “The tired and overworked professional or stressed parent, someone who likes to listen to their favorite song in the car or in the shower or the next Guy Sebastian. Pop choir sing fun for everyone and surprisingly cool!”

Cyrus’ moment of bonding with the amateur singers comes weeks after a source told PEOPLE that the “Wrecking Ball” singer is actually living a “very normal and peaceful” life with her boyfriend Maxx Morand and is “really thriving.”
