Mind-bending Barbie optical illusion leaves people baffled – you can only see it with your eyes closed

THERE are many different types of optical illusions, some can reveal hidden aspects of your personality and others can change the way you see the world around you.

This clever illusion has people confused after it was shared on TikTok by artist Rishis, who posts on the account @rishi.draws.

The Barbie-themed illusion shows a distorted image of Ken, but the illusion only works when you close your eyes.

“I loved the movie Barbie so much that I created an optical illusion of my favorite character that you can only see with your eyes closed,” he explained.

You can’t just glance at the image for it to work, though—you have to stare at it for at least 30 seconds.

“You can blink, but just keep looking at it…then I want you to close your eyes and raise your head a little.

“Then I want you to blink with your eyes closed, if that makes sense, and you should see the portrait slowly emerge,” the artist said.

You should test the optical illusion in a bright room if possible and keep the phone screen still to see the best results.

If you follow the rules, you should see a portrait of Ryan Gosling as Ken as you continue to “blink with your eyes closed.”

His face can be seen even after you open your eyes.

After trying the illusion for themselves, many people were amazed at how well it worked.

One said: “It didn’t work with my eyes closed, but when I opened them, he was on my wall.”

“Help! Ryan Gosling is on my ceiling,” joked another.

A third commented: “I saw it and it kept getting closer! This was cool but scared me a little.”

And another said: “I’m very impressed! I didn’t expect this to work and I was scared. Now when I blink I see Ryan Gosling.”
