The model — who was a big face in the ’80s industry — revealed exclusively to PEOPLE that she chopped off 12 inches of her famous blonde hair to donate to Children with Hair Loss.
Alexis’ big hair transformation can be seen in a video shared exclusively with PEOPLE. With her long locks tied in parted braids, she stands as her hairstylist cuts each bun, leaving her with shoulder-length hair on one side.
The result of the dramatic bangs is a chic bob, which Alexis’ stylist worked into beachy waves.

Children With Hair Loss — founded by Regina Villemure, a hair transplant specialist and former cosmetology instructor — is a non-profit organization that turns donated hair into wigs for children and youth who have lost their hair due to medical conditions, such as alopecia and cancer.
Since 2000, the charity has provided hundreds of hairpieces and care kits for free each year.
