Mohan Joshi was born on Tuesday, 4 September 1945 in Bangalore (Kingdom of Mysore, British India) (age 78; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Virgo. After completing his studies from Pune, he joined Brihan Maharashtra Business School, Pune to complete his degree in commerce.

Mohan Sirish Joshi or Mohan Joshi was born in Bangalore to a lower-middle-class family. His father was in the Indian Army. His mother’s name is Maher Joshi and she is from Nagpur. Mohan has two brothers. He married young. His wife’s name is Jyoti Joshi and the couple has a son, Rohan Joshi.

In 1969, he started acting in theater in Pune. He came to attention for his drama “Kuryat Sada Tingalam”.
He has performed more than 8,000 stage plays and more than 30 drama works. Some of his popular dramas are Aasu Ani Hasu, Gadvach Lagna, God Gulabi, Goshta Janmantarichi, Kalam 302, Mi Revati Deshpande, Tarun Turk Mhatare Ark, Double Cross” and “Aaranyak”.
He made his film debut in 1983 with the Marathi film Ek Dav Bhutacha.
He has acted in more than 70 Marathi films, including Sawat Majhi Ladki (1993), Tu Tithe Mee (1998), Gharabaher (1999), Not Only Mrs Raut (2003), Deool Band (2015), Mulshi Pattern (2018) ) and 66 Sadashif (2019).
In 1993, he was discovered by the Adhikari brothers Gautam Adhikari and Makrand Adhikari, who invited him to star in the Bollywood film “Bhookamp”.
He plays the villain “Bigg Boss Daya Patil” in the film. He gained huge popularity with this role and later, he received many offers from Bollywood to play villains.
He has acted in more than 350 Hindi films, playing villains in most of them. Some of his Bollywood films include Gaddaar (1995), Yeshwant (1997), Ishq (1997), Haseena Maan Jaayegi (1999), Gangaajal (2003), Baghban (2003) ) and “Yeh Hai India” (2017).

He has acted in several Bhojpuri films such as “Janam Janam Ke Saath” (2017) and “Tabadala” (2017).
He made his acting debut in the Gujarati film Hameer (2017).
Apart from dramas and films, he has also appeared in various Marathi and Hindi television serials. In 2009, he made his acting debut in the Marathi television series “Agnihotra”. He later appeared in many popular Marathi television series including Bhairoba (2010), Eka Lagnachi Dusri Goshta (2012), Chala Hawa Yeu Dya (2015) and Kahe Diya Pardes (2016).
He has appeared in several Hindi television series including Jamuniya (2010), Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein (2010) and Daadi Amma Daadi Amma Maan Jao (2020).

In 2013, Mohan Joshi and actor Chetan Dalvi were beaten up by Nashik locals for misbehaving drunkenly. The entire scene came a day after Mohan Joshi resigned as president of Malatya Nadia Parishad.

- He was born in Bangalore and lived there for 7 years. He then moved to Pune and completed his studies.
- After graduation, he continued acting in theater shows while also starting a job with Kirloskar Group in Pune. He later quit his job, started his own transportation company, and worked as a truck driver for nearly eight years. One time, one of his transportation company’s vehicles was involved in an accident, and he was so distraught that he decided to close the business.
- In 1987, he moved to Mumbai to start his acting career.
- In 1999, he won the National Award for the Marathi film Gharabaher (Special Mention).
- In 2003, he was appointed President of Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad. He left office in 2011 and was re-elected in 2013.
- In 2017, he received the ‘Vishnudas Bhave Award’ for his contribution to Indian theatre, which included a trophy, certificate and cash of Rs 25,000.
- His dramatic play “Kuryat Sada Tingalam” has been performed more than 1,000 times.

I have stopped doing Hindi films. Bollywood today is full of relatives. Too many newbies are acting in Hindi films. There are many groups and campsites. There was no place there for an actor like me who didn’t belong to any group. Besides, now heroes are also playing villains, so we have no jobs. I have acted in many Bhojpuri films. I find the language very sweet and loved working in Bhojpuri films. “
