Moment passenger nearly dragged to his DEATH by train pulling into station as horrified travellers helplessly watch

THIS is the horrifying moment a passenger was almost dragged to his death by a train entering the station.

CCTV footage shows footage of the train on the man’s shoulder as he waits on the London Blackfriars platform.

In the hair-raising video released by Godiva Thameslink, the passenger is knocked to the floor.

His legs don’t seem to be pulled a hair’s breadth from under the carriage as he kicks back to safety.

The terrified passengers look on in shock before rushing to his aid.

The man was miraculously unharmed, but GTR meanwhile warned railway users about the importance of waiting behind the yellow line.

Samantha Facey, director of health and safety at Thameslink and Great Northern, said: “We’re already seeing higher passenger numbers due to the festive season, and while our staff on the ground are here to help, it’s important that people do their part to stay safe.

“We had more than 150 slips, trips and falls on the network last winter and these can be extremely dangerous on the railway.

“Please allow enough travel time so you don’t have to run after the train and always stay behind the yellow safety line to protect yourself and other passengers.

“Following these simple steps will help you get home safely this Christmas.”

In October, we shared a video of a girl who unknowingly ran directly into the path of a high-speed train at a level crossing.

She and another pedestrian, who appeared to be an elderly person carrying a shopping bag, ran for their lives, narrowly escaping death.

The footage was shared by Network Rail as it issued a stark warning about the misuse of level crossings.

The rail operator said in July that there had been 466 incidents of level crossing abuse and 28 near misses on their Wessex route in the 2023-24 financial year.

Level crossings are one of the biggest risks to public safety on the railway, says Network Rail.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, multiple CCTVs showed the moment a hero passenger jumped onto the train tracks to save a toddler.

The brave act happened just 22 seconds before the train roared past them.

The three-year-old was walking on the platform and began to descend over the edge before falling onto the track.

Warrick Dent, director of safety and operations at the LNER, said: “Fortunately, incidents such as this one captured on CCTV are rare, but they do happen.

“We know that traveling with children can be challenging. Driving strollers and luggage through a traffic stop can be stressful.

“So we want to make sure parents and carers are aware of the services we have available that can make their journey with us easier and safer.”
