Monu Manesar is an Indian cattle vigilante and a prominent member of the Bajrang Dal. He is one of the main accused in the 2023 Nasir Junaid murder case. His claim in the video that he would participate in the Mewat Brajmandal Yatra in July 2023 allegedly angered the Muslim community in Nuh, leading to communal violence in the area.

Monu Manesar aka Mohit Yadav was born in Manesar, Gurugram, Haryana, India. According to one source, he was born on Thursday, August 5, 1993 (age 30; as of 2023), and according to another source, he was born on Saturday, August 5, 1995 (age 28; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Leo. He completed his schooling from Neeraj High School, Manesar. He later studied for a diploma at a local polytechnic. After completing his formal education, he associated himself with Hindu organizations.

Bajrang Dal activist
When Monu Manesar was eighteen years old, he met Dr. Dharmendra Yadav, a member of the Akhil Bhartiy Hindu Kranti Dal who later became his mentor. Dharmendra later introduced Monu to Dr. Manjeet Yadav, a member of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, who mentored him and helped him become a member of the Bajrang Dal.
He said in an interview that when he was a student in college, he once saw a truck full of smuggled cattle. When police stopped the truck, they saw many of the cattle dead. Monu was disturbed by this and vowed to stop cow smuggling, and gradually became a famous cow vigilante in Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
In 2015, he was selected as a member of the Gurgaon Cow Protection Task Force formed by the Haryana Police. He is one of the most prominent Bajrang Dal members in Haryana.
He is also associated with the Gurgaon Civil Defense Corps and often participates in various rescue operations in local accidents and social projects such as blood donation camps.

Nasir Junaid double murder case
On February 16, 2023, the police found two burnt bodies in a Bolero restaurant in Bhiwani district of Haryana. The two bodies were later identified as Nasir and Ghatmeeka of Ghatmeeka village in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. Junaid. Police subsequently named Monu Manesar and four others as accused in the case and laid murder-related charges. He absconded from his home and evaded arrest. He later released a video claiming he was innocent and had been framed in the case. His name was later removed from the FIR and chargesheet. On September 12, 2023, Haryana police arrested Monu in connection with the case; he had been evading arrest for several months. After hearing in a Haryana court, Monu was handed over to the Rajasthan police by the Haryana police. On October 16, 2023, Monu was granted bail by the Nuh district court in Haryana. However, he is in judicial custody in connection with another case.

Accused of killing a Muslim man
On February 18, 2023, it was reported that on the morning of January 28, 2023, three Muslim men named Waris, Shokeen and Nafis were involved in a speeding collision with their Santro car in Nuh, Haryana. The gang attacked three Muslim men. Wallis died during treatment; however, his family blamed his death on Monu. The family claimed Waris died as a result of beatings and said Monu had live-streamed on Facebook showing the trio being interrogated; however, he later deleted the video. Police officials claimed that Waris died due to injuries sustained in the accident and no FIR was registered.
Criminal case
There are more than five criminal cases registered against him under IPC Sections 302 and 307, involving murder, assault and attempt to murder.

Facts/Trivia
- In 2019, he was shot in the chest while trying to stop cattle smugglers. He was then admitted to a private hospital in Gurgaon where he underwent treatment for four days.
- He is so popular on social media that he was awarded the YouTube Gold Button after his YouTube channel crossed 100,000 subscribers. After he was named as one of the main accused in the Nasir Junaid murder case, his YouTube channel was demonetized by YouTube and some of his videos were deleted.
- He is often seen in photos brandishing pistols and rifles. During the interview, he said he owned a licensed pistol and rifle.
- He is considered one of the key reasons for instigating communal violence in Nuh and Mewat in Haryana. Apparently, he posted a video claiming that he would participate in the Mewat Brajmandal Yatra on July 31, 2023, which angered the public, leading to mob violence. Monu later revealed that he did not attend the pilgrimage due to security concerns.
