Morgan Wallen will spend seven days in a DUI education center, months after he was arrested for throwing a chair off the roof of a Nashville bar.
A Nashville judge sentenced the country star, 31, to a week in jail, to be served at a DUI education center, as well as two years of probation — one year for each of his misdemeanor reckless endangerment charges — on Thursday, Dec. 12. Star must also pay a $350 fine and court fees.
“Mr. Wallen has fully cooperated with authorities over the past eight months, communicating directly and apologizing to all involved. Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and foundation,” his attorney Worrick Robinson IV said in a statement to PEOPLE.

Wallen entered a conditional guilty plea through judicial diversion, and if he successfully completes the terms of his probation, his charges will be eligible for dismissal and expungement.
The “One Thing at a Time” singer was arrested on April 7 after throwing a chair off the roof of Chief’s Bar. He is charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct, according to court records obtained by PEOPLE.
Wallen’s final hearing was held in May, and his attorney Worrick Robinson attended on his behalf after the country star waived his right to appear in court. After a discussion between the lawyers and the judge, the case was set to continue in August – and subsequently postponed until December.

Morgan Wallen’s felony chair-throwing charges are moving forward as a Nashville judge sets a new hearing date
“Today was a very typical day in a criminal trial in Davidson County General Sessions Court,” Robinson told reporters after the hearing.
“This is obviously a very complicated case and it’s not going to resolve itself without subpoenas and witnesses,” he continued. “We’re going to work on the case on our end, and then Morgan will be here on August 15. A couple of things could happen — we might have a hearing, we might settle the case, or the case might go forward. Those are the options. We don’t have to enter any kind of plea. .”
On the day of his arrest, Nashville police said two officers were standing outside Chief’s Bar, a six-story bar and restaurant on Broadway, when they watched a chair Wallen allegedly threw fall from the roof onto the street.
Days after the incident, a source told PEOPLE that the “I Had Some Help” singer wasn’t expected at the bar’s opening and hadn’t spent much time there before allegedly throwing the chair.
“Morgan is generally a sweet and fun person to hang out with, but once she gets going she doesn’t know when to stop,” a source told PEOPLE. “Morgan and alcohol is a problem and it’s a problem that keeps coming back.”
Morgan Wallen breaks silence on latest arrest: ‘I am not proud of my behavior and accept responsibility’
On April 19, the singer — who was previously arrested for public intoxication in May 2020 — addressed his arrest in a statement posted on his X account.
“I didn’t feel right coming out publicly until I made amends with some people. I touched the base of law in Nashville, my family and the good people at the Chiefs. I am not proud of my behavior and accept responsibility,” he wrote. “I have the utmost respect for the officers who work every day to keep us all safe. As for my tour, there will be no changes.”
That same month, PEOPLE spoke with Nashville attorney and legal expert David Raybin, who said that while Wallen could technically face up to six years in prison on the three counts, the chances of him being sentenced to the maximum sentence and serving all that time the sentences in the sequence are “very far”.
Most recently, Wallen was named Entertainer of the Year at the 2024 CMA Awards, where he was not present to accept the award. It remains unclear why Wallen — who wrapped up his One Night at a Time tour in October — was not in attendance.
