Morrissey Forced to Cut Dallas Concert Short After Fans Rush Onstage Mid-Performance

A recent Morrissey concert was abruptly ended after fans’ attempts to hug the singer while he was performing quickly got out of hand.

The English singer, 65, was performing an encore at Dallas’ Fair Park Music Hall on Saturday, Nov. 2, when a fan slowly approached him on stage and reached out for a hug, according to a fan video shared on social media and TMZ. .

As security tried to restrain the woman, another fan made his way onto the stage and reached out to shake the musician’s hand, which he successfully did before he too was pulled away. Morrissey continued to sing “First of the Gang to Die” as the fans approached.

The former Smiths frontman has not commented on the incident, but shared photos of the gig on Instagram with the caption, “12 from Dallas, November 2nd.”

The rocker is currently on tour through the end of the month, with his next show scheduled for Monday, November 4th in Little Rock, Ark.

“Stage invasions are very common at Morrissey gigs, but this one looked particularly messy. It’s not clear if it was Morrissey’s choice to leave the stage or if he was directed by the crew, but it seems the fans went a little too far,” Allen told Manchester Evening News.
