  • Mukesh’s father wanted him to join the Indian Army as there was less cricket activity in Bihar at that time. In 2012, Mukesh was preparing for the Indian Army in Bihar but failed to clear the exam after three attempts. His father called him to Bangladesh to help him in the taxi business. He moved to Bengal to prepare for the Indian Army there. He also plays tennis matches to keep his passion for cricket alive. His coach said in an interview that he was preparing to join the army, but he was very passionate about cricket. His coach also revealed that he is very serious about cricket and rides a bicycle 30 kilometers to the academy every day.
  • When he came to Bangladesh, he joined Bani Niketan club where he earned Rs. 400-500 for a tennis match. His father did not support his decision but he was against him playing cricket.
  • In 2014, he participated in the trials for Bangladesh Cricket Association’s Vision 2020 programme. In an interview, he shared his experience at the trial and said that when he went to the stadium, he almost failed to bowl because he had to go to the toilet. When he returned from the bathroom, the selectors put a cross in front of his name on the list. He requested them to give him a chance and be allowed to bowl. At trial, he impressed the selectors and became part of the program. After the trial, he failed a medical examination due to malnutrition and was put on a proper diet.
