A MUM and her four daughters were found dead in a hotel room.
Police fear they were killed by her son on New Year’s Day in Lucknow, India.
Officers found five bodies in a hotel room and say their clothes were soaked in blood.
A 24-year-old man identified only as Arshad has been arrested in connection with the murders.
The police also suspect his father Badar, who is still on the run.
The family traveled to the city of Lucknow from Agra to welcome the year 2025.
But Arshad then allegedly killed his mom and four sisters in their hotel after a heated argument.
The victims have been named as Alia (9), Alshia (19), Aksa (16), Rahmeen 18 and their mother Asma.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Raveena Tyagi said, “The accused, identified as Arshad, allegedly killed five members of his own family.
After the gruesome act, the local police immediately detained the accused from the crime scene.
Forensic officers are now searching the scene to gather evidence.
Joint Commissioner of Police Babloo Kumar added, “Investigation is also being carried out with the staff of a nearby hotel and all findings will be shared with the media as soon as they come to light.”
