Mum ‘can barely speak’ after son, 6, fell to death from ‘dangerous’ East London window as man screamed ‘my boy is dead’

The devastated mum of a six-year-old boy is “barely able to speak” after her son allegedly woke up early and fell to his death from a 15th floor window.

The young man fell more than 150ft from the 15th floor window of Jacobs House on New City Road, east London shortly before 6am.

The boy’s aunt, Maryan Hadafow, said the local name of the tragic boy is Alam Makial.

The relative added that the boy’s mother told her the little Arsenal fan had opened the kitchen window after waking up early for school while his parents were asleep.

Accompanied by Alamo’s grandmother, Maryan said at the scene: “He went into the kitchen and opened the window.

“He got up early to go to school. He was a wonderful boy.”

She added: “His mother complained to Newham Council about that window.

“She sent five emails about them being opened and said they weren’t safe for her children, but no one did anything.”

Neighbors in the skyscraper were horrified by the tragedy that happened in broad daylight.

A mum who lives in the block said the tenants were in “complete shock”.

She said: “We know the family. The parents are in the hospital, the other family members are in the apartment.

“Allegedly, the boy was early and then fell from the window.

“It was an accident, but nobody knows how it happened. People are looking for answers.”

Another neighbor said: “I spoke to the mum a few weeks ago and I saw her with her son in the lift with her boy, he was lovely. She barely spoke today.”

One witness said a male family member stood over the young man’s lifeless body and shouted “my boyfriend”.

Father-of-two JJ Armstrong, 33, saw a distraught man circling the body shouting: “My boy, my boy, he’s dead”.

JJ, who lives on the 12th floor of the block, told The Sun: “I heard something outside.

“I looked down and saw a man standing over the child and kept shouting ‘my boy, my boy, my boy is dead’.

“He was distraught and walking in circles. It was horrible to see.

“I couldn’t go there because it was too awful.”

The Metropolitan Police said: “We were called at 5.58am on Thursday 16 May to reports of a child who had fallen from a height on New City Road, E13.

“Police officers, London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance attended.

“At the scene, a six-year-old boy fell from the floor of a residential building.

“Despite the efforts of the emergency services, he unfortunately died at the scene of the accident. His family is aware and has support.

“The death is being treated as unexpected and inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

A spokesman for Newham Council said: “The council is continuing to establish the facts surrounding this tragic incident and until we receive further information we are unable to comment further.
