Netflix’s new series, based on Ali Novak’s best-selling book series, My Life With The Walter Boys, debuted on December 7, 2023 in the United States. The story follows Nikki Rodriguez, an orphan who moves to Colorado with her now cheating guardian and mother’s best friend, Katherine Walter, played by Sarah Rafferty. Katherine and George Blucas, played by Noah LaLonde and Ashby Gentry, have nine boys. When Nikki falls in love with one of the boys, Cole, she finds herself in the middle of a love triangle with Alex, another of the boys.

Originally, the book was a Wattpad novel that Novak wrote when she was 15 years old. “There’s always something to be said about love, but I was inspired by the love triangle between Damon and Stefano in The Vampire Diaries,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “There is something so captivating about a love triangle and so many young adult books have been inspired by that series.” When asked why they wanted to show the novel on television, Halsall said: “It’s about growing up, about self-discovery, about facing the challenges that life can throw at you, about finding a family. And the show takes a bit from the book. For example, two sets of twins become one, and that’s a big change that I think people will see.
However, some fans of the books may see some changes along the way. “We have to adapt the book to work as a TV show,” Hallshall said. “The dynamic of the relationship, especially between Jackie and Alex, is a little different than in the book. What happens at the end will surprise people because it’s different from the book, but I hope this will somewhat surprise the audience, people who love the book and people who are new to it.” Will there be a second season of My Life with The Walter Boys? Netflix has not confirmed the renewal of the second season of My Life with The Walter Boys. Warning: spoilers ahead. The season ended with Jackie leaving Colorado on her way back to New York. But Novak has not yet announced the continuation of the book, but with the premiere of the Netflix series, it is probably in the plans.
