Skinner won a silver medal in the 2020 Olympic vault and was an alternate for the 2016 Olympic team. She competed at the 2014 World Championships, where she helped the United States team win gold. She also won a bronze medal in vaulting as an individual.
As a result, she won a total of 11 medals at the USA National Championships during her senior career. She was also a member of the University of Utah gymnastics team and a two-time NCAA champion. She won the junior individual all-around title at the American Classic in 2011.
