Nandre Burger was born on Friday, August 11, 1995, in Krugersdorp, Gauteng, South Africa (28 years old; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Leo. He had some experience playing club cricket before joining the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) in Johannesburg. He studied for a degree in sports psychology at WITS. He made his debut for Gauteng on 11 February 2016 in the 2015–16 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup against South West District at Oudtshoorn Recreation Ground.
He made his T20 debut on 14 February 2016 in the CSA Provincial T20 Challenge against South West District at Oudtshoorn Playground. He made his first appearance for Gauteng Group A on 26 February 2017 in the 2016–17 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge against North West at Strumson Wythe Park in Potchef. He became the top wicket-taker in the 2017-18 CSA Provincial Gauteng One-Day Challenge, with 19 dismissals in 7 games. In July 2018, he was selected into the South African Cricket Emerging Team. In the same year, he played for Cape Town Blitz.
While playing for Gauteng, he became the leading wicket-taker in the 2018 Africa T20 Cup, with 11 dismissals in 6 matches. In September 2019, he was selected to play for the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants in the 2019 Mzansi Premier League.
In April 2021, he was named in the Western Province squad for the 2021-22 South Africa cricket season. Apart from this, he has also played for the Lions (2017/18-2018/19), Cape Cobra (2019/20-2020/21) and Joburg Super Kings (2023).

He made his T20I debut for South Africa on 14 December 2023 against India at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg during India’s 2023/24 tour of South Africa. He made his ODI debut against India at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on 17 December 2023 during India’s 2023/24 tour of South Africa. He performed impressively in the second ODI by taking 3 wickets. He made his debut against India on 26 December 2023 at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg during India’s 2023/24 tour of South Africa. His fiery four-wicket haul helped South Africa beat India in the first Test. Berger took 7 wickets on his Test debut and 2 wickets in his first 13 deliveries, laying the foundation for a remarkable Test career.
