Neel Nanda dead: Comedian and Jimmy Kimmel star dies aged 32 as Matt Rife and Dane Cook lead tributes

Jimmy Kimmel star Neel Nanda has died at the age of 32.

Comics including Matt Rife and Dane Cook are among those who have paid tribute to the stage star.

Nanda was best known for starring in the hit ABC show, and also appeared in Comedy Central Stand Up Presents, which hit screens in January 2023.

Tributes poured in, with Rife saying, “You were one of the nicest and most valuable comedians I’ve ever called a friend.”

Lou Perez described Nanda as both a talented comedian and a warm human being in a post shared on xformerly Twitter.

Comedian Victoria Arnstein said: “He was a gem. He was an excellent comedian. Unfortunately, he is gone now.

“Please check on your friends even when you think they’re fine.

“Even if they make you laugh. Something as simple as a text. Charity is not just about giving money.

“It’s about giving time. Much more valuable. Rip Neel Nanda.”

Comedian Dane Cook, known for his dark humor, also paid tribute to the star, who he says he does not know personally.

He found reading the tributes heartbreaking and eye-opening.

Cook added: “I echo many in expressing that there is help. Please remember you are never alone. People want to help you.”

Nanda has performed at venues such as The Comedy Chateau in Los Angeles.

The venue shared a picture of Nanda on stage and said, “You left us too soon.”

During his career, Nanda has starred in the Amazon Prime show Inside Joke and the Hulu series Coming to the Stage.

Nanda also shared his comedy on social media and his Instagram broadcast channel Keeping it Neel.
