Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek Embrace at Golden Globes Months After Feud Rumors Were Shut Down

There is no evidence of bad blood between Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek!

Three months after a source dismissed rumors of a feud between the two actresses to PEOPLE, they gathered on the red carpet at the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 5, looking excited to see each other as they chatted and hugged.

Kidman, who was nominated for her performance in Girlshe wore a shimmery twisted Balenciaga backless one-shoulder dress with a gorgeous crystal-embroidered mesh train. She accessorized with the brand’s Knife 110mm Pump in cream satin and Boucheron jewels.

The actress, 57, wore her hair in a large high ponytail that was pulled back from her face. Her husband Keith Urban accompanied her to the fashion show.

Hayek, meanwhile, went vampy in a maroon gown covered in sequins, a low-cut maroon dress that cinched in at the waist to show off her curves and flared into a dramatic train.

The Eternals the actress, 58, paired it with more than 300 carats of Colombian emeralds by Lorraine Schwartz (including a necklace, earrings and ring) and wore smoky eyeshadow. She also wore her hair perfectly tousled in a half updo, even embracing a few gray hairs around her hairline.

Kidman and Hayek went viral in October 2024 for what appeared to be a tension captured on video, but a source told PEOPLE exclusively that the incident was misinterpreted.

“At the end of the show when they were in the middle of a conversation they were bombarded with cameras,” the insider said. “People watch clips and make a story out of nothing.”

In the video, the actresses and Katy Perry were photographed. Hayek placed his hand over Kidman’s body to seemingly position her so that she was facing the photographers. Kidman then removed Hayek’s hand from hers, turned away from her to hug Perry, 40, and then exchanged a few words with Hayek. Eventually, Kidman stepped out of the frame as Hayek and Perry continued to take pictures.

Another shot showed the two stars smiling together, with Kidman rubbing Hayek’s shoulder. Hayek also posted her carousel from the event on Instagram, including a photo with Kidman.

A source close to both women also told PEOPLE, “This whole situation is stupid. Salma and Nicole love and respect each other.”
