Niecy Nash and Wife Jessica Don't Plan Matching Red Carpet Looks: 'It's a Telepathy Thing' (Exclusive)

Niecy Nash-Betts and Jessica Betts have a next-level relationship.

At the InStyle Imagemaker Awards on Thursday, October 24, the pair arrived in chic black and white, but the matching moment wasn’t planned.

“I just said, ‘Can you look pretty? And I’m wearing black and white.’ And that was it,” Niecy, 54, told PEOPLE at an event in Los Angeles.

“Even when we don’t try, we leave the room and end up matching,” he said Grotesqueness the star continued. “Even if we don’t try. It’s a matter of telepathy.”

Jessica, 42, added: “We’re absolutely in sync.”

The couple, who tied the knot in 2020, also talked about their favorite parts of marriage.

“The best part of marriage for me is waking up next to her every morning,” Jessica said. “Oh, you stole my sentence!” Niecy joked. “I was going to say that. The best part of being married, because someone stole my line, is actually being married to my best friend.”

I thought your friends were your friends, and then your marriage was your lover. But now that I have a best friend who’s actually my lover, it’s the best part.”

During an appearance on the Thursday, October 17, episode Jimmy Kimmel LiveNiecy shared that she and her husband set a goal for their marriage.

“I divorced a man and married a woman,” Niecy told host Jimmy Kimmel. (Niecy filed for divorce from ex-husband Jay Tucker in 2019.)

“And when I got married this time, I had that plan, and it wasn’t deep,” she continued. “I just said, ‘I want to make love all over the world.’ And so far in four years we have been to 26 countries!”

So far, the actress confirmed, the couple has made love in 26 countries.

“Do you have to be touching the ground in the room, or like, if you’re flying over? does it work?” – asked the 56-year-old Kimmel. “Do you feel any pressure, like, ‘Oh yeah, we’re only here for one night, we have to do it?'”

“No, that’s the plan,” Niecy replied. “And we stick to the plan.”
